Do I need the All in one SEO pack when i use Thesis? Does having both on my blog hurt me?
Mark M. replied:
I believe that you should have your SEO settings managed in a plugin vs within the theme. Here's a good debate to follow: http://yoast.com/themes-plugins-seo/

Awesome link Mark Madsen and the screen grab shows one of the reasons I have (or stopping) use of Thesis and switching to Genesis.

Drew Meyers aha, thats important to know!
Mark M. replied:
Isela Pizarro Gonzalez - intall the "All in One SEO Pack" and follow their instructions. I prefer WooThemes, Solostream or Pagelines over Thesis. You can also go custom.
Isela G. replied:
Mark Madsen thanks for the information. I cant go custom but willcertainly look into those also.
Mark M. replied:
David Cairns - here's an argument that supports Thesis vs Plugin: http://thesistheme.co.uk/all-in-one-seo-vs-alternative/ - However, as Drew Meyers mentioned above, I still believe SEO should be managed in the plugin in case you switch themes at a later date.

Great post Mark Madsen. I can see switching themes could be an issue. Again, I think it really is a matter of taste as both sides have pros and cons. Good discussion, I love it.
