Can anyone recommend any campsites around Columbia Gorge, Oregon. We're two British hikers looking for good walks and amazing photography opportunities.

I would suggest: http://www.portlandhikersfieldguide.org/wiki/Ruckel_Ridge_Loop_Hike There is a campsite at the parking lot for the Eagle Creek Trailhead. Many good hikes start here. Ruckel Creek (linked above) is a nice, scenic 14 mile loop with a 3700 foot elevation gain. It is one of my favorites in the Gorge. The highest point on this trail is Benson Plateau, which has places to set up your tents. Pay close attention to paragraph 3 if you choose this trail - finding the trail head is a bit tricky. This will probably be the first place I go camping this year. edit: Left some words out. edit 2: Not sure where I got 14 miles from. PHFG says it is only 9.
