Can anyone recommend a good dentist in Hove? After a year of trying, have given up on finding an NHS dentist. I need at least one filling and possibly two root canals. ...

I used to have a really good dentist nearby Hove Park but they shut down, I'm now with the White House with NHS and its pretty good. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=brighton+the+white+house+dentist&oq=brighton+the+white+house+dentist&aqs=chrome..69 i57 j0.2121 j0 j4&client=ms-android-oneplus&sourceid=chrome-mobile&espv=1&ie=UTF-8#

I'm with Brighton White, they seem really good - but the main receptionist guy is a massive wanker.

I use the Montpelier practice near Waitrose (so not really Hove). Been with them on and off for years, they've always been good to me. [http://www.montpelierdentalcare.co.uk/](http://www.montpelierdentalcare.co.uk/)

Portslade Dental Centre on St Andrews Rd. bloody brilliant service by dentists who actually look at your notes before you come in. I've never felt like just a statistic. With previous locations I can't say the same thing....and it is NHS. Trust me, worth the walk to Portslade....I happily do the 25 minute walk, walking past other practices.

I guess things changed, because when my old NHS dentist (Tooth Smart) got taken over and went to shit, I literally just Googled 'brighton NHS dentists' and went to one of the first ones on the list. I'm at the Montpellier practice right now, and it seems okay (I very rarely have anything more than a checkup, so it's hard to say) but my dentist left after my last appointment so I'll find out if the new one will try and milk me for money in April:s

You can find dentists and those that are accepting NHS patients at the moment by visiting [the NHS website](http://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/Dentists/bn3/Results/12/-0.179205268621445/50.8393135070801/3/0?distance=25). You can also call the Surrey and Sussex area team and ask them. http://www.nhs.uk/Services/Trusts/Overview/DefaultView.aspx?id=89771 Just call around all those that are listed and you'll eventually find one that is accepting new patients.

Does it need to be Hove? I signed up to [Oasis Brighton](http://www.oasisdentalcare.co.uk/practices/) in November as NHS. Was lucky enough to get a cancellation and got seen within seven days. Though they did mention usually having a waiting list.... EDIT: Have just found an [Oasis Dental Care Hove](http://www.oasisdentalcare.co.uk/practices/oasis-dental-care-hove/) sugery - 01273 779434/778273 Sorry to hear about the lack of results over the past year. Hope it gets sorted. P.S. For what it's worth, my experience at Oasis Brighton was my first dentist visit in several years. Very nice dentist, nurse and reception staff. Was really put at ease.
Please post anon. Does anyone know why/where my dentist has gone at Gentle Dental in Broadwater?

You had a bad experience too? Trafalgar St (butcher) Practice should be closed down!! Don't go to Bright On Smiles in Hove either - dentist is rude, abrupt and only about the ££. I travel to a family dentist in Bucks now. Sorry I can't give a good Brighton recommendation:/ x
