Hello! Who here practices KuNye massage in the US and can recommend training programs? I am already a NY State licensed massage therapist and am looking for a very...

Just Tibetan Medicine but who knows!
Justin W. replied:
Shang Shung in Massachusetts!
Sarah F. replied:
@justin wilhere how does Shang Shung compare to Sorig Institute in CA? Both have low-res programs, I am curious to talk to grads!
Justin W. replied:
Did you work with Eric R.? I've had some teachings from Dr. Nida but nothing in person. I'm not a massage kinda guy but I'm studying the whole spectrum of Tibetan Medicine at Shang Shung so I'm not a grad yet.
Sarah F. replied:
i havent worked with either Dr Nida or Eric, but I have read Dr Nida's books. It seems just from looking at course info online that the massage-only program at Sorig gets into general TTM more deeply than the massage-only program at Shang Shung does.
NG N. replied:
I believe Eric has left the country - Shang Shung and Dr Phuntsog are excellent. Phuntsog was one of my teachers and her massage was invaluable during my first pregnancy. I believe she teaches intensive at SSI regularly for the in program students. I will be teaching soon and in the list is kunye. First I'm teaching some basics on Tibetan Medicine - all this is in Colorado where my clinic is - but teaching will be at the Shambala Mountain Center - If you want more info on my classes and program for teaching kunye I can give you that. Because I've only taught kunye to native tibetan medical students in India at Chagpori and not yet to western students that is why the first introductions are basics of Tibetan Med will happen first as a level 1 then level 2 then kunye. I am setting up a structured program to train people but as it's my desire to teach people a solid background to the system it's going to be in that format. If you want email me directly at tibetandoctor@gmail.com Or follow me on my public clinic profile - Tibetan Medicine & Holistic Healing where I post when I teach. Best of luck. Oh and if your in Maine I believe I have a friend who practices and she spent a week with me in my clinic before she went to Tibet observing my kunye and medicine - she practices so if you want her info I'm happy to give it to you.
