We used Dwight's Movers after a recommendation from here and were extremely happy with them. They were, IIRC, 1/3 the price of our last guys (apartment movers) and the service was awesome. Super nice guys and didn't waste ANY time.

Apple Movers are pretty good, a little pricey but are insured and all that. Three Men Movers and Two Men and a Truck. Used them all over the past ten years in the HKA area, pretty much all the same.

AB Moving did a good job for me. Dayton to Clearlake. Having your stuff prepacked is the way to do it.

I hired one moving company on the recommendation of the storage facility. They were scheduled for 2-3 pm on a Saturday. I called at 2:30 pm. They said they would be "a little" delayed. I called the central number again at 4. Dispatch said he knew they were late, but he would call them to get an ETA. I never got a call back. Finally, around 5:30 pm, I started calling moving companies to find someone who would unload a truck on a Sunday. Most were either not answering their phones, or would not schedule movers on a Sunday.
The one I ended up using is [Cheap Cheap Moving](http://www.yelp.com/biz/cheap-cheap-moving-houston). Reasonable rates, and responsive to phone calls. I used them both moving into a storage unit and leaving it, and am happy with my service.
P.S. the first moving company I talked about? They called me at 8:45 pm on Saturday night, and asked me the location of the move. WTF? Did they really expect me to hire them after they didn't call me for over 6 hours? I can understand a job going over. But 6 hours over is ridiculous.
OT but I don't get moving companies and how they treat people. I moved in two batches. One, is the one I discussed above. The other part was my wife moved a month after I did with a long distance moving company. The first company she called for a quote never showed up. Never called, nothing. The second company gave us a decent bid, but required $1500 down. We told them that the total moving cost was reasonable, but we could only put down $500. If they lowered it to $500, we would hire them.
They came back with the exact same bid, with $1100 down. WTF is their problem? My response was, word for word, "What part of 'we can only put $500 down' do you not understand?" They literally through a paying gig away because they wanted a down payment so badly.
The third company matched the big of the second company, but required $0 down payment. (In fact, they said that no reputable long-distance moving company requires a down payment.)
