Seems with all the electronics in appliances these days they go out faster. The old refrigerators were very simple. We have had issues with GE Monogram as well. Two electronic repairs since 2006

Not much I can do with freezers and refrigerators beyond water dispensers and icemakers. They were built to be replaced not repaired. But I hear Curtis Crater is quite the appliance guy.

The igniter, thermal fuse, and the coils are the most likely to go out. You can test them or fork over $20 and just replace them anyways. Works most of the time and you can inspect the other parts while you're on there. A new one uses exactly same principle to dry just a different cover and timer. Call Curtis Crater for repair if cleaning vent and hose doesn't help; Prob a valve needs replacement.
