New to the HB area. Need a recommendation for a cardiologist? Any recommendations? Thanks
Amber M. replied:
I used to work in the cardiology department at UC Irvine Medical center. They have excellent cardiologists there and I know people would come from out of state to be seen by them.
Ken P. replied:

Adriana M. replied:
Dr. Mila in Newport Beach identified a heart problem in my husband that didn’t show up in treadmill tests and others. He pushed for more tests and found a 90% blockage in one artery and 100% blockage in another. He recommended the surgery group. 5 days later, after a double bypass, my husband came home and has been great since. He’s with Greater Newport Physicians and saved my husband who had what is called the widow maker. No previous heart issues. Good luck!

I tried posting on the HB Community Forum and got booted off so I'll try here. I have to see a cardiologist at Newport Heart in Newport Beach. Have any of you been...
Debbie P. replied:
Dr. Desmond Levin.
Carol S. replied:
Newport Heart is an awesome group. Dr. Haskell helped keep my Dad alive until he was almost 91! My Dad had his first heart attack in his 50's so we never thought it possible.
Brooke M. replied:
Dr Hunter
Lee K. replied:
I second Dr. Carey O'Bryan.
Christie B. replied:
Dr Itchhaporia is wonderful. No long waits, mosts tests can be done at the office, easy parking and very smart and efficient staff. www.newportcoastcardiology.com
Ginger R. replied:
My mom saw Dr. Carey O'Bryan. I think Newport Heart is excellent. Hoag Newport is also excellent.
Michele B. replied:
Desmond Levin excellent interventionalist but fairly dry bedside manner. He is friendly but not a man of many words. If you need intervention I know he is very very excellent and confident at what he does. I would rather take the most highly skilled doctor vs the best bedside manner when dealing with my heart...
Cathy H. replied:
Dr. Bonnie Gainer, Dr. Haskell and Dr. Levine but they're all great! I think there 8 doctors in the group.
Lydia C. replied:
Dr. Panutich is wonderful! He treated my teenage son and was extremely professional, knowledgeable and caring. We were never rushed and always took the time to explain and answer all our questions. I also work for a large hospital system and I highly recommend him and his staff is very efficient.
Teri W. replied:
Dr. Bonnie Gainer is at Newport Heart and she's great. The staff there...not so much.
Paul G. replied:
HB Community Forum isn't for referrals. HB4U is. Wrong group. That is not to say that HBCF needs a bit of clarification as to what it is these days. Turning into a bit of mean spirited, shouting match forum lately....
