I'm serious Bram. I moved out here in 1985, didn't see a doctor until 1997 because my wife demanded that I start using my insurance and get regular check ups. My priorities back then were: 1) American born 2) Went to school in America I picked out a Dr from the catalog and went for a physical.....a full check everything physical. As luck would have it my Dr. graduated from Michigan State Univ. Little did I know, he also played Offensive Guard at Mich St. Dude was 6'8" 300# and had fingers the size of bratwurst. I wasn't able to sit down comfortably until 2002. I've since changed my search priorities.......Dr. Lee is great.

If you want a true "family doctor" our entire family has gone to Dr. Mark Monroe for years. He is an excellent doctor. Very caring and takes the time to really understand anything going on with you. He's a harbour resident but his office is in Santa Ana, corner of Warner and Fairview.

I see Dr Laurie Seymour with Edinger Medical Group and they are HMO. My 83 y.o. mom sees her too. I never have to linger in their waiting room and she allows you to be an active patient advocate in your own healthcare. She saved my mom's life about a year and a half ago.

Dr. Barry Schwartz, on Beach Blvd. In brick building where HB Hospital is located. He's my mom's doctor and he's fabulous. Very busy though- so you have to specify you want to see him, or you might get another doctor or PA, in that office.

We used to take my Dad to Memorial Care on Magnolia and Adams. They take PPO's and cash. Really nice. They also have one on Beach and Ellis.

Hey Bexx...Torn Rotator Cuffs are painful and serious, no matter how minor. Having torn cuffs in both shoulders, I can speak from the a-hole experience of NOT listening to the doctor...believe me, you don't want surgery...do what they say...do the range of motion exercizes, and don't strain your shoulder...it will take time, but you can get back to 100%...I, however, (a-hole patient that I am) have about 85-90 % range and cannot reach the middle of my back or go completely over my head...I am screwed if the cops ever tell me to put my hands up...LOL

Between Garfield & Yorktown. When I was very sick - he came to the Hospital to visit. I think you'd be happy with him!

Doc Bart Barrett visited my wife in the hospital only a few hours after she was admitted and he absolutely took control of her care and lined up the best surgeon for the job. Great man.

Marty, Brandon is pretty awesome. He is my mom's doctor and she LOVES him. He takes the time to speak with his patients and understand what is taking place.

We really like Brandon...it is easy to get an appointment, you get in right away, You don't feel rushed in and out and, he is really interested in you as a whole person and not just a patient. His PA, Mike Burney is great too. It is a very relaxed enviornment, but very caring as well.

We go to Martin Steinfeld at the Hoag Health Center on Beach.
