I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to groomers (I have fired many a groomer). I am quite pleased with Haute Dogs Pet Salon, but it may not be as close as you'd like. I also liked the people at Carrie's Scruffy Puppy on 72, but not the grooming job (they didn't do it according to the picture I took because they didn't like it), but..... they treat the puppies really great.

Hollywood Feed- the new place in south Huntsville. Ms.Alicia is the groomer and she's awesome. It's on the corner of Whitesburg and airport. They have awesome treats and toys as well...organic and local stuff AND they give you a 25% discount the first time. They have 3 different options from a simple bath...to rockstar treatment.
VIP on Charlotte Drive ...256-881-0664 Penny Webster has literally been grooming my dogs for over 20 years....She goes above and beyond .... She's simply the BEST.

Penny Webster best groomer in town. I should know I owned a grooming shop for 5 years before I went to law school. She shows dogs too.
Can anyone recommend (or tell me to avoid) a dog groomer? I haven't been thrilled with PetSmart and Goin to the Cats and Dogs never has any openings. Has anyone tried...

There is a dog grooming business off Pratt heading toward the parkway from 5 points. I believe it is called Rockstar Pet Spa and Boarding. Affordable, local business, very friendly.

Thirding Goin to the dogs and cats (groomerhsv). Robyn is wanting to work with more cats and medical issues like mats are the reason why. The website says no more clients but I know her personally. Call and explain.
Looking for a new dog groomer now that my big Doodle has only three legs. His mobile groomer is wonderful but can no longer accommodate him. Specifically looking for...
Josie P. replied:
I think a vet/groomer is really personal and I know Tia loves Animal Care, but I went to them for years and finally had an absolutely traumatizing experience with them and moved my furbabies to Bentley Animal Hospital. I live in Southeast Huntsville and drive clear to the other side of town for them. When my Brindle Kitty was so desperately sick the vet gave me her cell phone number one weekend in case I needed her. I don't think it gets any better than that. I assume they also do grooming. I can also give testimony about one day when I was there and a man brought his two dogs in for boarding. The dogs got so excited to see the person that handles the boarding and jumped all over him because they were so happy to see him. Then they practically ran to the boarding area with barely a look back for Dad. I can't recommend them, vets and staff, highly enough.

Sylvia Sycamore Toffel -- sadly, that doesn't work for me anymore. I adore Goin to the Cats and Dogs and have loved having them groom Ben, but with only three legs he can no longer jump up into tub or onto the table of the mobile unit -- he is way too big (76 pounds) to pick up and he cannot stand for very long. I've talked with Robyn and Erin (I buy all my food and treats there) and they agree, so I very reluctantly gave up my spot on their schedule. At this point I think I'm going to try Paradise Pet Spa -- he hasn't grown back out from my whacking yet. When he does I will take him there. If that doesn't work out I am likely going to be doing it myself from now on.
Mary S. replied:
Animal Care Clinic. They do not use a sling, but do want to meet Ben to see if they can accommodate him. I plan to take him by for a meet and greet next week. Thanks!

I love Animal Care Clinic. I now have to drive 30 minutes to get there but it is worth. These people really care.
Can anyone recommend a good dog groomer in the Huntsville area?? Need someone who knows how to groom a golden retriever!

Check with Whitney Ballinger
Carissa S. replied:
She used to be at Haute Dogs on Jordan lane. I think she works from home now. She also comes to Athens about once a month and grooms at her moms house. Send her a pm. She won't mind.
