Does anyone have a recommendation for a local foot doctor that can help me with Morton's Neuroma? I can't run more that 6 or so miles on pavement (I can go longer on...
Cindy C. replied:
Dr Ocampo removed mine in July and all went well. He's with Sportsmed.

Andrew Walker? Ideas?
Andrew W. replied:
Ali as I understand mortons neuroma, the options Dauna has tried are good ones to offload the neuroma. The other options would be changes in running gait to reduce the load such as a gradual shift to rearfoot strike (if not already doing), or a gradual increase in cadence. Weakness at the hip and knee could also increase load at the neuroma. As far as surgery I have heard good things about Dr Ocampo. From what I have read in journal papers there is up to 35% risk of ongoing pain due to scar tissue occurring during healing. So I would ask plenty of questions if going that route!

Have you tried zero heel-toe drop shoes yet? Altra has a zero heel-toe drop and a wide toe box. My mom was having Morton's Neuroma issues and after switching to Altras she had no more issues. Fleet Feet sells some Altra models. It might be worth trying them and seeing how they feel.

Dr Deorio at TOC removed mine from the top. Six weeks no running then gradually built back. I did the cortisone shot twice before having surgery. First time helped for about six months of heavy running. Second one did not help. You can also talk to Nesin Therapy, they may be able to work with you to help fix other problems that may have led to the neuroma.
Where can I find wide width women's trail running shoes in Huntsville? My daughter needs some trail shoes, probably size 5.5 or 6, but wide width. I'd really like for...

Fleet Feet!
Laura P. replied:
Colleen most women's shoes are B width, while most men's shoes are D width. I end up buying men's to get them wide enough. If Fleet Feet doesn't have what she needs, First Place Athletics also carries Altra (foot shaped) shoes, but their inventory is a lot smaller. The New Balance store also has some versions in wide widths. I have a hard time finding wide shoes in the right size locally and I've looked everywhere!
Meghan M. replied:
I also have really wide feet and typically need special shoes. Fleet feet has alta which has a really wide toe box. For trail shoes I wear the men's inov8. Also, fleet feet will order shoes in a wide and then you can try them on when they get in, no obligation to buy them if they don't fit. Alan Taylor was my savior trying to find shoes for my freakishly wide feet:)
Colleen W. replied:
Thanks everyone! I took her to fleet feet and the woman helping us measured her feet and said they measured normal width. She tried on several pairs of trail shoes and found a pair of Brooks that she said felt good! Pretty limited selection in her small size, but I'm glad we found something.
Ok y'all... Where is the best place to buy a keg of beer in Huntsville/Madison?
Asking for a friend.
He also wants to know your favorite running shoes...
Song F. replied:
My favorite running shoe is the Lunar Glide by Nike. And Brooks Adrenaline. Hope your friend can use this info.

Asics Kayano.

Liquor Express is a good place to get a keg of non-craft beer, whereas the breweries themselves (Straight to Ale, Yellowhammer, Rocket Republic, Salty Nut) are good places to get good local craft beer - in a keg.

Considering running a half that is solely on the beach. Anyone done one like that before? I'm concerned all the sand in my shoes will give me blisters....
Alright universe, i'm getting tired of this. First you take away my favorite concert boots with breaking the zipper. Now you've taken away my gorgeous English riding...
