We are now moving here and am really looking forward to it.

Hythe vets is great, sunshine mez bar (opposite icelands) is lovely and as for secrets there's so many to list it's untrue. I've lived here since I was sixteen (now 35) and I'm still finding new ones. Great walks along the canal and the roughs, the ranges (when the red flags not flying) saltwood woods and castle and many more. I see you like shooting from your profile pic too and I've got a few friends that can help you find places to go for that so you'll have plenty to do. Feel free to get in touch if you want to ask anything and welcome to our lovely little town.
Hi all, I am looking into re-locating to Hythe, and I would very very much appreciate from all of you who reside there, to give me your true honest opinions on what it's...

Been here and help run a business for nearly 30 years. My sons went to local schools and did well. Teenagers might get impatient till they can drive. My youngest ( now 19) loves it here and says it's a nice mix of town, country and coast. It is harder for young adults to get places of their own, but that's true of the whole SE. I got year tickets to Port Lympne park and love it. As with any place, you get out what you put in, take an interest and support. I am lucky to live near the canal walk and that is wonderful. Steven Bailey is right about links to London and the Continent. Can't help but be smug coming back from France and driving straight home in 10 minutes.

There are two doctors' surgeries - you can check the NHS website for reviews. The nearest hospital is in Folkestone 6 miles away with outpatients and a Walk-in centre until 10 pm. The William Harvey Hospital in Ashford is about 11 miles away up the motorway, again best to check reviews on line. You have the advantage of hills and the sea here. It has a long high street with lots of independent shops. I love it.

Have been in Hythe 18 years and love it. Great walks, lovely people, friendly shopkeepers. Definitely recommend Sun Lane surgery. It’s smaller and older than Oaklands but the staff and the service are excellent.

Moved to Hythe in 2013 from London, best decision my husband and I made for our family. Sadly there is a lot of developments planned fingers crossed it doesn't start looking like a council estate (paid too much getting away from all that). Doctors and Dentists are good here but the hospital is nearer Ashford.
I need to change doctors as martello are ridiculously useless... any suggestions please

Vote from me for Oaklands, particularly like Dr Kate Pierce - very patient, understanding, friendly, thorough and you don't feel like you are being brushed off or being a nuisance and wasting their time
I think someone posted about this the other day but the wait for an appointment at Oaklands is horrendous at the moment. Are there any other GP surgeries in Hythe and...
