Hello. I am new to Imperial Valley. Can anyone recommend a good veterinarian and/or dog sitter for 3 boxers? One is very old and on meds. Thanks
Dennis W. replied:
Dr Howard in Brawley is a good vet, and Buddy Sweets is a great place for pet boarding. They are located by Food 4 Less.
Patricia T. replied:
Paige Lovitt he is expensive too.
Jessica P. replied:
For a dog sitter, you have two reputable options. If you want someone to come check on your dogs at your home, you want Tami Armijo. She's also a certified dog trainer with over 30 years experience, and is just wonderful with dogs. If you're looking for a place to board your dogs, try Buddy Sweets (https://www.facebook.com/buddysweets1). They offer daycare and overnight boarding.
Jaime R. replied:
Jessica Peng, thank you!! Yes, I would prefer someone to come to my home, but I foster too so I'm glad to have both options. Buddy Sweets sure sounds like a great place
Tami A. replied:
Really not any good vets in imperial valley. Yuma is the best. I have 8 yrs working for excellent vets in fresno. I am the best pet sitter with my over 30 yrs. Experience in dog sledding and showing my dogs. I have the passion and the knowledge for you & your beloved pets that the others do not have. Tami Armijo 1-760-427- 8750. Give me a call.
Gayle D. replied:
I will always miss Dr. Thompson from the El Centro Animal Clinic but i think Dr. Abby is a pretty good vet also and I love Dr. Kineke (sp?).
Tami A. replied:
Paige, Dr. Bowen retired. Two San Diego vets there now. Best PET SITTER & TRAINER IN THE I.V. 1-760-427-8750
Phyllis E. replied:
I absolutely miss Dr Thompson, he was wonderful. Dr Abby is a good vet at El Centro Animal Clinic but she is often busy doing surgery. If animal is really sick I drive to Animal Medical Center in El Cajon, it's a 24 hour facility so you animal is monitored and treated all night too.
Phyllis E. replied:
Also recommend Dr Satow, Desert Vet Group in Imperial. The staff there is very nice, good to deal with...Some say excellent, others say miss-diagnosed their animal so...
Gayle D. replied:
Not impressed with Dr. Satow. He isn't a fan of adopting older dogs and suggested I killed a puppy by adopting an older dog. I told him i adopted a puppy, too (years ago) his response was "oh".
Jessica B. replied:
Hi, everyone has their preference, but another option is Dr. Satow in Imperial. And absolutely agree on Buddy Sweets, good place....:)
Mallory G. replied:
I go to Dr. Satow in Imperial for my pugs. And I've heard Buddy Sweets is great!

I have rescue animals and I highly recommend Dr. Satow at Desert Veterinary Group. He is awesome and I am very picky about Vets:)
Paige L. replied:
Dr. Howard is very expensive. I haven't need to see a vet since Doc Thompson, but I've heard the one that replaced Dr Bowen is also good.
I know this is a page to sell things but My dog is dying. Is anyone a vet on here??
