Hi to everyone :) Untill May I'm living in Incheon, not far from Seoul. Do you have any recommendations for a vegan? A restaurant or cafe that I shouldn't miss? Thanks ;)
Kevin F. replied:
I've been searching thoroughly all over Incheon and I can say with some confidence that there are only 2 places that purport to be vegan in all of Incheon. There are a couple Indian places that can get the job done, but nothing special. Go on HappyCow and you'll see the two I mean. The one, Sandal Baram, is a buffet and actually one of my favourite places in Korea, but unless you are fluent in Korean and call them ahead, there is no way to know when they will be open. They usually only have dinner on Friday night, but sometimes they are just closed and you really can't know when that may be. The other place is in China town and although they claim to have an all-vegan menu, there are huge palettes of eggs visible in the kitchen. In fairness, most Koreans that I've talked to seem genuinely shocked by the suggestion that eggs are an animal product. They usually don't seem to realise that eggs, butter, milk, shrimp, fish, and some other things have anything to do with animals. They may be using eggs in their cooking without making any connection at all to the fact that eggs come from animals and are thus not vegan.

If you want to introduce your students to a spot of gourmet Korean cuisine they may not have sampled before, I'd strongly recommend this fine dining establishment. The price may seem a bit outrageous at first viewing but it's well worth it. http://www.kimbabcheongug.co.kr/main.php

Todd B. replied:
Hi, Some friends of mine just got married in Incheon. They reserved: Incheon Royal hotel Grand ballroom It was just the whole downstairs room, not a cramped "hall." Everyone sat at tables with glasses and things. There was an isle they walked down through the tables to the stage area thing. There was also a buffet hosted for them in the 2 nd floor. However, you might be able to have food catered downstairs. Check it out.

Does anyone know if Peter & Paul restaurant is still open? The phone number is out of service. Thanks in advance.
Javier C. replied:
No longer in business in their Songdo original location and don't know if they open elsewhere. They had good steaks. What type of food are you looking for? One that I like to go from time to time to get pasta or steak is Mary Go Round in the old Canal Walk now NC. If you are looking for the Ruth's Chris, Mastros, steak franchises or more sophisticated Knickerbocker (Manhattan style) I've heard there are good restaurants in Seoul. Hope this helps.
