Have you considered applying for carecredit? Also if you can get to a vet school i found its a bit cheaper. Get your puggie to a vet asap at least to be checked out he could have something stuck in his intestines http://www.carecredit.com/vetmed/

Can anybody recommend a very cheap vet? I got a new dog today it is a cockapoo-shitz tzu. The lady that gave her to me said she was left outside after her neighbors...
Sarah W. replied:
The rescue we adopted from used Dr. Wingart at Inependence Animal Hospital. We took our pup there on their recommendation and he was great! We didn't even get charged for the visit.

I am in search of a good vet in the area that may consider doing a payment plan. We have had a little emergency with one of my little dogs and we need to get him in to...

Dr. Wingert at Indep Animal Hosp is great. They take walk-ins (not sure about payment plans) but I've heard awesome things about Dr. Means in W-burg also! Here is their link- http://ianimalh.com/index.htm
Sue S. replied:
Dr. Means by all means, he is the best.
Bethany C. replied:
Dr. Means in Warrensburg is great! He's very cheap and has helped our dogs. If you walk in get there EARLY! There's always a lengthy wait. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Crain...he's pretty pricey.
Carol J. replied:
Dr. Means in Warrensburg. Alpine Pet Clinic. He is wonderful with animals. Doesn't like people much but he is very good with animals. That's where I go.
Beverly G. replied:
Dr. Means in Warrensburg. He loves animals not much of a people person but a great vet and very reasonable
Patricia A. replied:
Use Dr. Means in Warrensburg. He is very wonderful, loves all animals & Iss very very cheap compared tom any others. Lives by his clinic & checks on the animals at all hours and will call you if he needs to regardless of what time it is.
Chad N. replied:
Alpine in Warrensburg will work out payments but they are so cheap you usually dont need to. Dr. Means has absolutley no people skills but is incredible with animals and does it because he cares!

Dr. Means in warrensburg he is a wonderful vet and very cheap
Mike S. replied:
have seen Dr Scott couple times but never anyone else. will have to ask cuz even talked to peddicord bout my daughter going there for a few days to see what vets do. he said was ok but had age limits
Jack Z. replied:
Dr Scott is good
Charity G. replied:
I was told today was the first official business day under the new owner. That they would no longer accept payments. Dr. Peddicord is still doing horses but not small animals anymore. Just what I was told. I need someone who can work with us. My dog broke a tooth and is in quite a bit of discomfort. And being a short month, I wasn't prepared for something like this.
Charity G. replied:
And it's not about the vet or the quality. I am not saying anything bad about Odessa Animal Clinic. I have a great deal of respect for them and appreciate all they have done for me. It's just a matter of needing care for my dog and can't afford it right this minute.

Alpine Clinic in Warrensberg
Angie D. replied:
Independence Animal Hospital on Noland Road.. Dr. Wingert is wonderful... a little drive but they saved my dog from parvo and cut my bill down to 1/4 the original cost
Charity G. replied:
I already talked to Odessa Animal Clinic. They are my vet. I have done payments before. But he sold it t o Dr. Crouch (?). He is still doing horses but no longer small animal. I was very surprised myself. And Dr. Scott is still there. But they have new policies now.
Megan B. replied:
Oak Grove Animal Clinic. I'm not sure if they do payment plans, but I've never had issues with them
Violet C. replied:
Mike Obrien might help you at Jackson County Animal Clinic in Grain Valley.. he does payments for some..
Marsha K. replied:
Dr Means is amazing with animals. He was never rude. Just blunt. He is great with animals and very reasonable.
Twyla S. replied:
yes, try Dr Means, my sisters use him all the time, and even if he has to keep the dog, his prices are extremely low in comparison.....
Stephanie C. replied:
Dr Means is great he had to do surgery on my dog eye due to a tumor . He try to save it several weeks later had to remove it . For 8 weeks of follow ups, medicine, two two day and night stays all added up to 175.00 . That included surgery another vet told us it would of cost us way over 1000 at most offices for those kind of services.
Jennifer B. replied:
My mother in law uses Dr Means and has said the same thing. He's a wonderful, cheap vet but not a pleasant person. It makes me sad that Peddicord sold out. I've taken my dogs there for over ten years. I mainly see Dr Scott. I hate that they won't accept payments anymore. I understand ppl not paying their bills but I would never let an animal suffer because the owner couldn't afford it that day. I hope the new owner knows what he is doing. A lot of changes to a small town business can make it go downhill quick.
Ok my bully needs her tail amputated. It is a horrible corkscrew, and pushes in. Does anyone know the closest experienced good vet? Im in Topeka KS.
Thanks

Julie M. replied:
Dr. Becker - it would be an easy drive for you straight down I-70. He usually keeps them for 3 days after the surgery. He does a ton of tails weekly so he is very experienced at doing them. And he will be the best price you can find.
