You're obviously going to be getting a lot of responses, but just want to add Raleigh Family Orthodontics. Small, husband/wife owned practice, super personable and extremely good. I had checked out quite a few (some named in the comments), before I decided to work with them for both my (college-age) kids.

In some cases, maxillofacial surgery is needed to correct 'underbite'. This practice in Durham on Duke St is very capable. Call and ask for an evaluation for correction of maloclusion. They will recommend an orthodontist they work with. Good luck and thumbs up for addressing this need. Better chewing benefits the whole GI function. As I tell my students, What starts in the mouth ends up in the Neuse, less what your GI epithelial absorb. ## Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates

I technically should have had upper jaw surgery to completely fix my bilateral cross-bite and narrow palate, but I have been really pleased with how much form and function improvement I've gotten from Damon braces. I go to Pittman Orthodontics in Fuquay-Varina. They are wonderful! If Fuquay is out of the way there are other providers that use the Damon system. You can find them by plugging in your zip code on the Damon braces website.
I tell you what, my smile was jacked up. Had a snaggle tooth, uncentered mid-line, rotated bottom canines etc. I've had them on for almost two years and I'll be finished in March or April. Total cost is $5000-ish. So worth it IMHO. Even though I still have braces on I find I smile way more freely now. I show teeth in photos and everything, haha. I'm excited for you to get the smile you've always wanted!

If you're in Durham, Dr. Julie Mol. She did my wife's braces and my wife was really happy with the office.

Lassiter ortho, very professional and helpful with good prices and depending on your insurance great coverage options..

These are some great suggestions. I really appreciate you all taking the time to respond!

I went to Gladwell for Invisalign and it’s been incredibly easy and smooth so far. Considering Invisalign is 95% computer based 3D printing, Im not sure the ortho you pick matters much anymore.
One of my customers, Bray Sizz, is an orthodontist smile emoticon

I take my daughter to JU School of Ortho. I was skeptical at first but have some friends who have used them and were happy. Mikayla has had her braces about a year and we are very happy so far. It is a drive but about half the price.

Any recommendations for an orthodontist? Jared has a possible cross bite. His dentist mentioned Dopazo or Schellase & O'Shaughnessy, but I would love to hear if anyone...

Dr Lazzarra at the beach is awesome. Jr is so-so about him but I interviewed him pretty hard. Riley had a palate expander. Took a break. Maxey had braces. Riley is in braces. He doesn't pull teeth automatically & doesn't keep kids in braces a long time. His 1 st priority is bite
Does anyone on here know of a good orthodontist in the Jacksonville, Florida area? I am need of one for my two children...Thanks in advance for any help and advice! If...
Michelle R. replied:
Weaver and Straton on Kingsley. Ian had a lot of problems with his mouth and it took months to complete. They were very patient with him, explained to both of us all the steps before hand and reviewed results after. Great ppl at the office too
Can someone please recommend an orthodontist that also does extractions? (preferably near the Southside area). I will be paying out of pocket. TIA ☺️
Alexandra P. replied:
Try Arlington Dental Center. My husband hated going to the Dentist until he went there. They've extracted quite a few of his teeth and he says that staff is kind and the dentist is gentle. Good luck!
