Does anyone know of a good pediatric dentist that they would suggest? I'm wanting to take my thirteen month old to his first check-up, and am hoping for someone more...

Dr. Pope at magical smiles is fabulous!
Sonia M. replied:
Definitely Dr. Ganz at Magical Smiles. We've seen him for years. In fact, my daughter fell and broke off her two front (permanent) teeth. He rebuilt them so well, you'd never know she had the trauma.

Dr Coyle at https://www.facebook.com/650636711633024Capital Dentistry for Children is hands down the best. My daughter had to have some dental work done at 3. She's 9 now and still hates the dentist but Dr Coyle and his staff truly make her feel better about being there. Every single one of the staff truly have a passion and love for their job and the kids!
Ayla R. replied:
Dr Scott at Capital Dentistry. She is fantastic and has been working with my daughter for years, and her assistant is very sweet and great with kids!
Laura H. replied:
Dr Slaughter at RIverbend Dentistry HE and his staff are amazing.
Beth S. replied:
Dr Stein with Capital dentistry for kids. They talk to the kids and explain things in kid terms, every step of the way. My son chipped his tooth and they kept him calm and explained everything they were doing and you cant even tell its not his real tooth! They give you tokens after your appointment and then the kids get to go to the prize tower at the end and pick their prize. I switched to them from Magical Smiles and am so pleased!

Abby M. replied:
Harper just goes to my dentist, Dr. Scott in JC. They were fantastic with him. He got to touch each tool, and they showed him what each thing did before they used it so it wasn't scary. And he got toys and stickers afterwards.
I am looking for recommendations for a pediatric dentist. Brock needs some dental work, but we want a second opinion first. We currently go to Magical Smiles. Thanks...

Cara C. replied:
Spencer Kemmer on Leslie Blvd. I had a 5 yr old child in my daycare that had 10 cavities filled in one day and she came back to me that afternoon without any troubles. After that, I have taken all of our children there for the past 15 years. The little ones love all the people there!
Melissa C. replied:
Just FYI, we have gone to Dr. Gardner as well, but he is retiring very soon. His son will be taking the practice over and I do not like him nearly as much. I agree Dr. Kemmer is a very good, gentle dentist (I see him and love him!) but he is not a true pediatric dentist. Depending on the issue, he may or may not be able to address it. He has referred me to Columbia for a couple things. I have heard from a co-worker wonderful things about the pediatric dentistry practice from Columbia that opened here recently. Because my children are dental nightmares, I have been considering them. Just my two cents!
Anne H. replied:
We see Dr. Pickens at Plaza Dental for kids. Henry needed some dental work done and are very pleased with the office.

I was told that Capital Dentistry for Children had the only true board-certified pediatric dentists in town, and reading over both websites it appears to be true. I believe Magical Smiles is just "family" dentistry that happens to do a lot of kids.
Britney S. replied:
I work at Dr. Daniel Teubner's office. We're not a pediatric office, I see all of the children, we do not use any nitrous, but we Dr. Teubner and I have worked together on little ones as young as 3. If the child has decay and needs fillings, I am 100% positive they will have a great experience. When it comes to injections we have a great technique, they never even know. If you do prefer a pediatric office, Magical Smiles is great.
Stacey H. replied:
Capital Dentistry for Children is a great place. All the dentists are wonderful. The staff is very helpful.
Jennifer B. replied:
Capital Dentistry for Children. They are fantastic. I take my son to Dr. Coyle. They are board certified in Children's Dentistry. Dr. Coyle did an amazing job years ago doing dental surgery to save my son's teeth when they grew in without enamel.

Kady M. replied:
Plaza Dental Group! We took our son there when he was too small for a regular dentist. Great staff, great atmosphere, a little pricey BUT you get what you pay for. Dental work is one of those things you don't want to be cheap on.
Nichole W. replied:
Magical Smiles put my special needs son to sleep to pull a few teeth at St. MARY'S. 100% trust in them. Which says alot since we take him to stl for his other care.
Lana W. replied:
PLAZA DENTAL! Dr. Pickens is very thorough. I work there, not with him, but along side the pedo group. They are a great group of assistants.
Kady M. replied:
Dr. Pickens is who we had too!
Ashlyn W. replied:
Plaza dental 4 kids! Dr Pickens is awesome! I went to magical smiles and now I'm switching to Columbia! They put my daughter to sleep and they were able to do it in office which made it cheaper!
Hall R. replied:
Dr Pope was awesome to bring dental care to JC for low income kiddos. I had many students go through him and he was awesome. The other dentists I worked with there are also good. My 2 year old had dental surgery at the old St.Mary's many years ago at that time no one wanted to see a 2 year old and he had an abscessed tooth. Thank goodness Dr. Nail's sister referred me to him and he did the surgery. I think Magical Smiles does a great job with their surgeries
Jim L. replied:
Dr. Dye has done good job for my family.
Nichole W. replied:
I was worried too, I even took my son to Stlouis and could not find anyone to take care of his issues. Magical Smiles took his medical records and looked over them for 2 weeks and got a game plan together. Everything went great. They did it at the hospital.
Nichole W. replied:
They control what's going on. St . Mary's is only letting them use the space. I don't trust any hospitals around here including the university. But Magical Smiles is amazing
