Eric Freeman of Solid Rock Realty lives in that area and was extremely helpful to us during our first time home purchase. He's very patient, trustworthy, and knowledgeable about both the area and construction. And LMCU worked well for us as a lender.

Pete Bruinsma has been and will always be my realtor. He's honest and realistic. As for lenders, I haven't found any yet that I like, I'll be checking back in to see what suggestions pop up.

The Regal Home Group (Remax relator group) specialize in the Jenison/HUD/Allendale area. Their office is located right in Standale. I specifically worked with Travis Moelker. He's super knowledgeable of the area, pricing, and he knows homes. For example, when he walked through the dozens of homes with us, he pointed out potential pain points every step of the way as far as structure and "house" problems go. Travis and the Regal team aren't new to the market so they don't mind sticking up for you or calling out other relators. On top of that, Trav is an incredibly nice guy who you'll consider as a friend more than a relator.

For lenders, Jeff Timmer at LMCU is great. (Jeff.timmer@lmcu.org) Tim Meduna at Treadstone is another lender who is very responsive, patient and helps explain the process/options with first timers. Tim@treadstonemortgage.com Also (not to sound like a plug) but I am also a Realtor in the area (just had a couple new buyers get the keys for their home in hudsonville/Jenison). I'd be happy to meet up with you for a coffee or beer and answer any questions you have on the process! (Even if you don't want to go with me as a realtor:) I'm always up for real estate talk.
