The McMenamin's joints are pretty cool for atmosphere (especially the Kennedy School) and the Crystal Ballroom often has shows, but the beer is just okay. There's also a Rouge Public House at 1339 NW Flanders St. The Hop House is another good place for beer and has a couple of locations. The Screen Door is an awesome for breakfast (2337 E. Burnside) and the Elephant Deli is a popular place though not the most economical choice (115 NW 22nd Ave but I think they might also have other locations). A buddy of mine works at a place called called Accanto so if you're interested I'll pass along your name to him. Anyway all of these places have websites if you want a little more info. Enjoy Portland, it's a great city!
