Maybe give Cutrone's a shot. It's on Jefferson at Government next to Monjunis and Brew Ha Ha. I haven't been since he moved, but the barber (Mr. Cutrone) cut my hair many times during the years his shop was in the LSU union. Nothing fancy (pretty sure he used to cut hair in the military) but professional and local.

Check out Mercer Supply Co. on Nicholson. If you ask for a "Barber's cut" it's only $25, plus you get free beer, whiskey, or coffee. Really great staff over there. Jared was the good barber from Bocage and a bunch of us followed him over to Mercer.

I suggest Robert's Barber shop near Lee Dr. and Highland Rd. He does a phenomenal job and it is definitely worth the $30. If you want to spend a little less there is a Fantastic Sams about 50 yards from it.

Valerie Windham at Tones & Textures Hair Studio on Bennington off College Dr. She was formerly with Sportclips and has a large following. She specializes in men's cuts and only charges $18, though I typically tip well as she does such a good job.
