My first thought, if her leg was broken, she would be non weight bearing. If she had a torn hind CCL she would not put weight on the leg as it would collapse. (I have dealt with that). Saturday afternoon, most clinics are closed. I have been to several of the clinics, after hours will be expensive everywhere. Can you palpate any area where she flinches or gets upset with you? Have you looked in her feet and checked her pads? I have been to Kona Vet and to Keohou Vet, as well as Vet Associates in Waimea and Kapaau other side of Hawi.

I don't know about Kona area but it wasn't too much at my vet in Hilo to x ray one of my dogs hips when he was neutered. Just found the invoice, it was 75 dollars. Not sure if a leg x ray would be different than hips. This was at Aloha vet in Hilo.

My little peanut just did the same thing... I took him to Dr Head for an X-ray but luckily nothing was broken, just a pulled tendon in his elbow. I wrapped his leg in this cold wrap until I could get him I to the Vet... It is real soothing and gave him support since it hardens into a cast like wrap.... It is about $5.50 at Long's Drug... Might give your pup some relief... (These are for humans too!) I used it when I sprained my ankle. You can reuse it up to about 4 or 5 times... Just don't wash it!!!

Dr. Freed is super nice, but as a traveling vet unable to deal with x-rays, stitches etc. Dr. Ota is very knowledgable and affordable, and is definitely seeing new patients. If your dog is in trouble, Dr. Ota will fit you in.

Calcium bentonite clay is so powerful! Check out www.aboutclay.com. It's a natural anti-inflammatory and is loaded with minerals.

My Dandy dog is Gluten Free and fish free...absolutely no salmon/fish oils in his food. His eyes would blow up with allergies to fish. I'm gluten free and feel so good...why not my dog! My best bet is "Merrick" brand canned dog food and "Taste of the Wild" grain free lamb dry food! Check the labels!
Not sure if it's okay or not to post here but I'm looking for a veterinarian.
