Question from a mom: "My daughter (15) is involved in teen court. It seems to me that no one knows anything in that office! But that seems to be all government offices....
Patricia L. replied:

You don't need a referral to Beach house- but to outward bound start at beach house first. Call and talk to Mr. Paul. Tell him Matthew and Benjamin's mother referred you.

Outward bound is 30 day program that has a good rate of success. Also try www.rlcr.org they're in Okeechobee but do a great job and will work with you.
Tammy J. replied:
If the issue is drugs or alcohol, you can petition the court for an involuntary assessment. If residential treatment is recommended, you can then take the second step of filing a Petition for Involuntary Treatment. Judge Will is very helpful and compassionate.

WHATEVER YOU DO, NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR CHILD (no matter how drained you may be). We went through a similar situation with our son (he was involved in drugs). After several stints with DJJ, we finally decided (along w/his probation officer and judge) to send him to a long term facility in St. Augustine (he was 15 at the time) where he can get help. It was the hardest decision any mother/parent could make but today we can say after lots of prayer our son has done a complete 360 and is getting ready to graduate hs later this year :) His P.O. released him after 9 months under the condition that attends counseling, take wkly urine tests (both provided by the State), mandatory 7 p curfews & kept him on probation for a year after he was released. Today, our home & son are in a much better place. I will keep both your daughter & your family in my prayers xoxo... http://www.djj.state.fl.us/program.../residential-facilities
I understand your frustration but I do take offense to your "But that seems to be all government offices". IF she is in school and having school issues, they can assist you in her situation; there is a group home called "BEACH House" and another group home but can't recall the name. Good luck and hope you get relief soon.
Try this place it's a boot camp for trouble teens http://www.wingatewildernesstherapy.com/boot-camps...

THere is also something called SINS/FINS which is Child in Need of Services or Family In need of Services. Essentially the court can issue sanctions which compel the child to attend certain programs, Beach House is among them. But is also provides counseling and other resources. The parents have to be willing to comply as well. If you would like more information, call my office 226-9810

I've been with Linda at State Farm for almost 20 yrs. and very happy with her. Have heard good things about Jeff Yates too, you probably can't go wrong with any of the local folks, depending on your needs.
