I'll be cooking there for my 7 th year, its a month long advanced Thai massage retreat, http://www.thaimassagecircus.com/ Cleansing at the Sanctuary in Koh Pahngan is great, but the island is not the same these days as it used to be even a year ago... but if you go, also check out my friend Matthew Schotz yoga retreat center guesthouse project on the north side of the island. Vipassana at Wat Tam Wua (the forest monestary) between Pai and Mae Hong Son is a very beautiful and laid back Vipassana retreat and Pai is the quintessential hippie mountain artist and musician chill out town. Some cool permaculture projects and communities around these days too. When will you guys be around? maybe see you:) <3

I love Dr Mayer (she's my primary care physician) at Kauai Medical Clinic. she's a sweetheart and she works with you on which ever conditions you are concerned about. She just moved here a couple months ago also.

LOL, after all these comments, sheesh, we need to fix our medical care!! Don't get us wrong, our island is beautiful and people are great, just getting medical help is hard. Medical Insurance is o.k. but yeah, take all this advice in, so you can be prepared!!

It All Depends on What Medical Insurance You Have. There's Wilcox Hospital Here in Līhu'e, But Most Specialists Fly In On Island Once a Month. If They Can't Help You Here, They Will Send You to Honolulu, and If They Can't Help You There, Off To The Mainland You Go. Just Do Your Research and Be Prepared.

I have Dr. Martinez at kuhio medical clinic, he's awesome. I usually get an appointment same day and if not I go to his nurse practitioner or urgent care and they all use the same computer system so they can see what's been going on. Getting a referral is just a matter of him plugging it in and its done! Sending your scripts to one of the pharmacies in advance will help

Dr. Ann hall Lihue can prescribe - and her husband does treatment side, as far as regular Drs Kuhio medical or Wilcox clinic depending on your insurance .... Did I get you the # for the Phyic Nurse practitioner who can prescribe? And yes bring about 90 days of all meds with you as it can take that long to get it! And bring copies of your medical records! The Drs here treat everyone as if they are Dr shopping for meds!

Yes, took my 5 and 8 year old sons there for cleaning and fillings. Very awesome doctor and staff. I would recommend him. I sat with our 5 year old while my husband sat with our 8 year old. The interior is the same as it was when I was growing up (Dr Naganuma) but it looks very clean and he did mention that he was planning on giving it a makeover. You can tell that he really cares for his pediatric patients' comfort. Idk how he acts with kids that resist or scream though.
