Looking for suggestions on a different kind of night of music. I'm no longer interested in doing a jam night or battle of the bands. Thinking something different....

Yes! Weird Al is crazy good! I met him at the K-Mart in St-Vital Winnipeg in 1994.

Ive been tryin to talk the boyz into doing theme nights. But Im still pretty new around here so most dont listen. THEME NIGHTS. Hold sock hops on some nights bluegrass the other latin the next. Etc etc. Make each one an event with matching costumes. Ex. Lettermans jackets and bobby sox for the hop. Yadda yadda. With the resources and talent you have at your fingertips you can make it a success Jimmy. And every once in a while invite a guest. Like Zakk Wylde on hard rock night. Youd be amazed what famous people like to do for fun on their downtime. Just keep on havin fun. Cheers.

Check out Live at Darryl's house on You tubeat: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=live+at+daryl%27 s+house&sm=3 You could highlight a special guest or band every night and do something more controlled than a jam night would be. Sort of what we used to do at Segal's.
