Kathryn, I work at Home Depot Kanata. We have weekend workshops that will empower you to do many of these things! The third Wednesday of the month is always a Do It Herself Workshop for women. We are also doing a Basement Reno Series in late January. Even if you are not doing a basement reno you will learn basic things. Check out homedepot.ca or call our store at 613 271 7577. While we are not local or totally female run we are empowering women.
