I work at Gloucester Boarding Kennels just off the Anderson Road exit, east of downtown Ottawa. The family owned company has been open for over 30 years, so we have a lot of experience with dogs that suffer from separation anxiety/aggression issues/dogs that have been abused in the past. There was a recommendation for a "cage-free" facility below and while I think these sorts of kennels are great for dogs that are comfortable boarding, I don't think I would recommend them for a dog that has separation anxiety.
It can be overwhelming for a dog to come into an environment where there are many other dogs in their space and cause more fear/aggression due to the amount of excitement going on!
At my kennel, all dogs have their own indoor and outdoor space, with the option for exercise with other dogs (or exercise alone with a caretaker!) for an hour or so a day (but you can ask for longer exercise sessions).
Like I said above, we have lots of experience with dogs of all sorts of temperaments and special needs. Our main goal is that your pup is comfortable and happy- we're all mega dog lovers, we take pride in making the puppy pups happy and stress-free while boarding! :)
You can PM me for more info or call us and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have :)

https://m.facebook.com/ALaPattePoilueChenil?_rdr It's a family run boarding kennel that is probably one of the best run in the city. They've been open for about a year I think. I used to work with the woman, Denise. She used to be a veterinary assistant before opening the kennel. So she is very capable handling dogs with separation anxiety and any other medical conditions.

http://areak9.com/ Try these guys. I have left both of my dogs with them, my brother has also used them with his dog who suffers from separation anxiety. They are an amazing facility and there is someone with the dogs at all times, aside from bed time. However, I do recall her saying that if there is a dog who is uncomfortable she will bring them to her bedroom to sleep. I really can't recommend them enough. Let me know if you want more details!
