Hello, my husband and I just bought a house and will be moving to Bridgeport this summer. While it's unfortunate that Rt 23 is now closed for an entire year, we're still...

Backwards Bridgeport does not recycle. There is a bin/dumpster near the Bank of America at the corner of 4 th St and 202 where you can bring your own paper to recycle. And you can drop off recyclables at the Mascaro facility on 202 (only accessible when heading north toward the Dannehower Bridge) I believe M-F until 4 PM. http://www.boroughofbridgeport.com is a good source for local information, when they update it. I like reading the Borough Council meeting minutes; though they are usually posted a couple months after the fact, it's a good way to keep up with what's going on.

I use Kanze HVAC610-449-9677. They were recently recommended to me and were awesome.. price was reasonable and the guy who came to the house was very nice and polite! His name was Dave. I grew up in Bridgeport, Bush St, one of my sisters now have the house. I live off 23 now in Swedeland. Love the area.. always have!

We live on the edge of Bridgeport and are technically Swedsburg, but we get recycled trash with our local trash company. Bridgeport has a great Park on top of the hill on Union Ave as well as the best Doughnut shop in the world. I also love living close to KOP and the Mall and also local library and the Upper Merion farmers Market also at the Library.

ooh where is the farmer's market? Is there a .5% pr 1% Local Earned Income Tax in Bridgeport like in Conshy?
Linnea G. replied:
The Farmer's Market is behind the Upper Merion Township building (library, police station) on Saturday mornings, more info here: http://uppermerionfarmersmarket.org/ They just started last summer. I haven't been yet this year, but they always have a good selection of different food providers, some gifts (soap, etc.), and often live music. There is a 1% income tax in Bridgeport, unless you work in a municipality that has a reciprocal local tax.

For mechanics I tend to go to a friend who I really trust to be an honest mechanic - Doug Perkins Garage, 500 South Henderson Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406-3515 (610) 265-9295, & I like the work of Tire Plus in King of Prussia. I also had a good experience at American Transmission right in Bridgeport ... There is a mechanic right on 4 th street near Susi Jo's that I've heard others have used & liked.

Talk with Jim@Boro Line Auto. Good mechanic, very reliable. He's at the end of Boro Line Rd right off of Ross Rd.
Does anyone have experience with electric heat pumps? We are looking at a house that has a new energy efficient heating and cooling system but it is a heat pump...
