Angels Automotive – 4027 Bath Road – 613 767 1679 – Robert Francis Does great work, recycles everything, donates a portion of profits to the Kingston Food Bank, has measured and reduced his Carbon Footprint, and is as honest as the day is long.

I use Svendsen Brothers on Front Road at Days. They aren't the cheapest but they are fair and they don't BS and they don't say you need things you don't need.

These are some great suggestions. Thanks everyone.

I swear by action auto - great work, fair prices, quick and they're straight up about work that needs to be done vs work that isn't a priority.

AVOID CAR MEDICS. They charged me $1500+ for a repair they never did, almost died because of it. Called to talk to the owner, got screamed at and hung up on by the ASSistant manager. Worst service I've encountered, I did the research and fixed the vehicle myself for under 100$.

I'm a fan of Anderson Auto, great owners, reasonable prices, and has never once tried to sell me something I didn't need.

Do not ever go to A1 in the North End near Montreal Street. Overcharging con artists who destroyed my ex's car

I use Kingston AutoService, it used to be Jim Brown's. Totally reliable.

Price's Auto on Burnett St. is an honest shop. They will tell you what's wrong, and help make it as affordable as possible. Dave(owner/boss/guy you'll talk to) is unflinchingly honest. This is a very small shop, no commissions, no run around, no delegation of duties that remove responsibility. You're dealing with the guy who's name is on the sign. No body work, only mechanical, AFAIK.
Looking for a cheap mechanic. My passenger tail/turn/brake lights not working. Changed the bulbs. Not solved. Anyone know of one?

Wright's Auto Service on Sir John A. That's my uncle and cousin. Very fair, shop around for parts, don't fix what isn't broken. Good guys and a lot of people I've sent there are very happy. Ted Wright Aaron Chassie

Action Auto over by First Ave. I think that it's on Fergus. They've fixed little things for me and not even charged for it!
Jody G. replied:
As always, I strongly recommend my uncle's shop, Wright Auto Service. It's on Sir John A between John Counter and Princess. Straight shooter, shops around for the best price on parts, doesn't fix what's not broken or intimidate you into fixing anything if it still has life in it.
