Annette Langlois-animal chiropractor-519-771-8505, she is absolutely amazing...one of the reasons my old girl is still with me. Woodcock Veterinary Services- Leslie Woodcock DVM. She is in Puslinch, ON, 519-763-7729, dr.leslie@chirovet.ca. She pract ices chiropractic on dogs, she has a pool and does laser therapy also. It has been years since I went there so it might have change. Annette recommended her and my vet also recommended her. Annette also teaches people who choose to learn animal chiropractic and practice it. It is a better alternative than drugs if you like that sort of treatment. Annette would probably know people in your area if you want to explore this.

Atlantic Equine for all major stuff, Dr. Omar Mehar is absolutely amazing, the only vet I trust with my horses.
Isis M. replied:
I use Cornerstone in Epping for routine things, Dr Fallon is compassionate and through. For lameness and sport horse medicine - Dr Eric Swinebroad/Newmarket Sport Horse Medicine is superb.
Katie M. replied:
Myhre Equine Clinic - Brilliant team! They have helped me and many of my friends and clients - all with a smile, absolute kindness, and respect to my budget. They are absolutely wonderful and I won't use anyone else. (We live just down the road from Kingston in Epping.) Please let me know if I can answer any questions.
Shannon P. replied:
Another A+ vote for Dr Eric Swinebroad. I just had him out a couple weeks back. Very very thorough and took his time (well over 2 hours) for a very reasonable cost.

I'm looking for a good vet in Kingston, one who doesn't require yearly or three-year vaccinations for my cats who are all well immunized, and who doesn't recommend...
Jo A. replied:
My vet is on a leave, but will be back in December. Heather Carver...She is pretty sensible. Verona animal hospital. I'm not sure what her replacement is like, but if you can wait until December, I highly recommend her.
Janine C. replied:
Dr. McMurray at Kingston Mills Vet is a holistic & traditional vet....she's fantastic. Dr. Rutledge at McEwen Animal Hosp is also very good...He is a traditional vet but doesn't push stuff that isn't needed.
Nina L. replied:
My furs go to Dr. M. also. Started with chiro and acupuncture and now she is their full time vet. She did the surgery on Poppy's ACLs and was very happy with both the outcome and communication. You can always refuse vaccines, we have that right. My seniors only get rabies at this point because legally they must, and it is every three years. I do a heartworm and lyme test to make sure it is negative but no to the meds. The only thing I do not like is that the clinic only supplies Revolution which includes Heartworm medication - but again, it is our choice. Legally the only clinic that is allowed to dispense any meds has to have seen the "patient" within that year. No longer can we go to a counter of a vet and ask for advantage or whatever - as far as I know - anyone know differently?
Nina L. replied:
Thanks Janine - I remember years ago being able to just ask (when I had a stray and wanted to do a quick flea treatment before I exposed them to the rest of the crew. I think Big Pharm has something to do with this newish law - too many trips to sunny climes for the vets convinced them.
Rebecca A. replied:
Thanks all. I Think I'll try closer to home - Dr. M at Kingston Mills, but that annual visit thing is a money grab and I'm having problems just getting care when I need it.

Anyone know of a vet in Kingston who can help an egg bound love bird? Joey is looking hard to find a vet in the area who can help!
Melanie C. replied:
Egg binding is very serious. The bird will die quickly without help. Kingston Mills Vet and Beardell Animal Hospital are the only two vets that deal with birds. The only nearby truly skilled vet is Dr Robin Roscoe at the Lynnwood Animal Hospital in Nepean. If she isn't available, the 24 hour emergency vet clinic on Altavista in Ottawa is the only one skilled in birds. The Emergency Vet clinic in Kingston turned me away with several egg bound birds in the past unable to help.
Melanie C. replied:
Dr Robin Roscoe is an avian vet. The 90 minute drive to her clinic is well worth it. Egg bound birds die a very painful death within 24-72 hours.
Julia M. replied:
Call the 24 hr vet on Midland Ave. They may know one. Or Sandy Pines wild life Center in Napanee. They may know of one also.

Looking for vet with an Orthopedic Surgeon on staff, or an orthopedic Surgeon in Kingston ON. Any recommendations?
Luan E. replied:
Also Caledon Mountain Vet, Dr John Brancovich is an Orthopedic Specialist and very reasonable, so long as the dog is brought there. He is in the clinic Mondays and Thursdays I believe, other days he travels to other clinics for surgeries. He plated a broken leg for one of my fosters last November.

Sorry to hear this. During off hours, best place to take an small animal like a rabbit is UT Vet Hospital, but be warned that it's at least $150 just to go in there. I've been there a couple of times with my sugar gliders.
