Dr Freeman in Forty Fort. I think that was his name anyway
Can someone please walk me through the process of getting help? I’m trying to find a doctor to go to because I’ve been ignoring my own symptoms for a very long time...

Are u on your parents insurance? It depends on what kind of help u want. A psychiatrist typically will prescribe meds, psychologist will take more of a talk therapy approach. Zocdoc.com or healthgrades.com will give u a list of doctors with reviews from patients. If u have insurance (ur own or parents) u may want to check what the cost will be and make sure the dr accepts ur insurance. If no insurance talk to the dr’s office about being put on a sliding scale. They may or may not offer that.. they will base what u pay for therapy off of ur income, so it may make it affordable for you if u don’t have insurance. Best wishes for u on your journey. Good job reaching out for help. God bless
Trying to find a knowledgeable urologist in my area I live in the northern Virginia area and have been looking for a good urologist that specializes in HRT for a while. ...

Your insurance may offer a search function where you can get a list of covered urologists. You then Google each one. In my case, I found a urologist who listed certain keywords (hormone replacement therapy, etc.) in his self-described area of specialization.

You want a doctor that just will give you exactly what you want. That’s not how medicine works. This sub is ridiculous towards trained medicinal professionals. They know more than your reading dude. Go to a clinic, if you want 200 mg weekly right away…
Male Doctor/GP Reccomendations? I recently figured that since I've been living here for 2 years I should probably bite the bullet and find a doctor for regular checkups....

I go to Dr. Steven Heyden at the Aurora clinic in Whitefish Bay. He's a no-bullshit kind of guy, typically can get in without a huge delay and Aurora is pretty often in-network for health insurance. He runs on time too, which is huge for me.

If you have insurance, go to your provider's page and do a search for covered male GPs. Then look up your findings on [healthgrades.com](https://healthgrades.com) . I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but in terms of financial well being (b/c medical bills are the devil incarnate, let's be real), this is your best bet. If you don't have insurance, I'd look in to BadgerCare. It was a lifesaver for me when I needed it. They'll help provide resources just like any other insurance carrier on covered GPs. I like Dr. Adam Blackwell with Ascension. He's near Capitol and Oakland. Very kind, good energy and is easy to ask question/talk to. Bonus is that he isn't judgmental about anything really and willing to work with patients.

I really like Dr. Richard Lusis at Aurora Health Care in Mequon and Grafton. He is very non-judgmental and provides a clear list of instructions on next steps after your appointment.
Gnhwyvar replied:
You've got a few Aurora suggestions, just to throw out another: I go to Dr. Connolly with Madison Medical Group at Cathedral Square, and know two other people who do. All three of us think he's great. Very proactive and empathetic about any concerns you raise without straying too much from the "no bullshit" path.
My back still hurts ridiculously...Wtf. chiropractor hasn't helped, and I've been there twice. Muscle relaxers are not helping, desperately in need of pain meds. I hate...
