Try the Burns (Oregon) RV Park: http://www.burnsrvpark.com/. We have stayed there a couple of times in our RT. In Idaho, near Craters of the Moon National Monument, there is a nice KOA: http://koa.com/campgrounds/craters-of-the-moon/.

We have reservations at Crooked River Ranch in Oregon. Check it out - they may still have spaces. http://www.crookedriverranch.com/index.php/rv-park

My husband and I are planning a trip in our 1995 Roadtrek from NH to Glacier National Park in June. Would love to hear from those who have visited GNP in the past with...
Going to the Sun Road was still closed at the end of June when we visited in 2014. You could only drive a few miles in from West Glacier, then had to turn around. Park shuttles would take you a little deeper into the park for hiking, sightseeing, etc but we had a dog. There is a fantastic boondocking site about an hour away from West Glacier on Ashley Lake. https://freecampsites.net/#!3632&query=sitedetails

We enjoyed a hike with the field institute. http://www.glacierinstitute.org. We wish that we would have considered staying the night in some of the back country chalets. http://www.hikinginglacier.com/glacier-backcountry-chalets.htm. There are few (or no) glaciers visible on the main roads; you need to hike in the backcountry to see them. And you need to see them now because they are melting away. http://www.glacierhikers.com/glaciers.html

I think you can camp at McCormick Place, good location but not sure about electric hookups. Something to look into... you'll definitely want to check out Millennium Park as well as the Field Museum. If you are at all into baseball and the Cubs are in town seeing a game at Wrigley Field is also a fun thing to do.

Good luck with trying to navigate the traffic in Chicagoland area. Parking garages won't work because the clearances are only 7-8 feet. Street parking is next to impossible. Haven't heard of any campgrounds that are close to any of the attractions. And also there aren't many truck stops (Flying J, Pilot, Love's) in the area.
Hide a way lake in Yorkville. It's a little out but then take the train in. Cheapest way to get into the city. Parking downtown will be over $50 a day. You can use the water taxi from the train stations. Make sure you see The Bean. Still my favorite place in the city.
We are planning trip to Zion NP with our Labrador retriever, so would need doggy daycare for our days in the park. Anyone have any experience with this, recommendations?...

We stayed at Zion Canyon Campground right outside the park. You can take a shuttle from there to the park headquarters, but we just rode our bikes (it’s *very* close, and parking is an issue). The road up the canyon is mostly car-free, so we rode from our campsite all the way to the end of the canyon - spectacular! We booked only a few days ahead. Early-mid June. https://www.zioncamp.com/locations/utah-rv-campground-zion-national-park/

Susan S. replied:
If you search under 2007 210P, the first post is from us about our front end trouble. But it does not sound the same to me. You might just be "out of balance" as the weights that balance the tires can come off. A reputable tire and front end shop should be able to help.
Donna H. replied:
I had to have a front wheel bearing replaced on my 2004 210.

I would like to recommend the Desert Museum, just to the west of Tucson - camp at Gilbert Ray County Park - and, if it's cooled off while you are down there, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, south of Ajo - has its own campground. The Desert Museum has the most amazing live raptor outdoor flight show, among other things.

Sherry G. replied:
No reservations on traveling days, just use Allstays to boondock unless it's too hot and then we plug in at a campground along the way. Make reservations at state parks if at a popular destination. Boondocked at Cracker Barrel last pm. Yesterday morning made reservations for St. Andrews 2 night Panama City Beach. Made reservations a few weeks ago for Henderson Beach SP. will wing it a day or after that. The answer is a combination of reservations and winging it.

I have parked my Roadtrek overnight on a city street, when in a pinch. And my stable of overnight staples include freecampsites.net, national forest boondocking, and cant forget most but not all walmarts and casinos.
John F. replied:
We are loosey goosey, use Allstays a lot, generally calling ahead mid afternoon to secure a spot. Walmart/Cracker Barrel, etc a fallback. There are a lot of city, county and state campgrounds, some electric/water, some boondocking. Unless you have a tight schedule, day to day is the way to go.

Snag a big book (Good Sam RV travel guide) at Camping World and check out a multitude of options coast to coast. Kind of a pain to haul around, but we've found well worth it. If you are out of range, NO electronics needed. Follow ratings for campgrounds. Good luck, happy hunting!

Depends on what you want to do. Elkmont is closest to Gatlinburg. Smokemont is closest to Cherokee an The a Blue Ridge Pkwy. (Mile High Campground on the Parkway is private, no electric), Cades Cove if you want to go there. None have electric or water. Lots of water electric campgrounds in Townsend which is closest to Cades Cove. I live her, ask away.
