Because a lot of chiropracty is just woo. The basis of chiropracty is something called "innate intelligence" which comes down from God, enters your brain, and then flows out through your spinal cord and nerves. There are no germs, according to chiro - flu, colds, measles, smallpox, HIV/AIDS, they are all caused by kinks in your nerves cause that innate intelligence stuff to block and not flow properly. Cancers are cause by that, too, as are allergies, PMS, stomach aches, mental issues, and every ailment not caused by an injury. Oh, and the thing which chiropractors call a "sublixation" (which is different than the medical use of the term) has never been shown to actually exist.

How did they scam you? I have been going to Dr. Adam Brookes at Bruce Family Chiropractic for a couple years now. They do a proper assessment (xrays, spinal scans) and put together a plan (with a payment schedule) to get you back to optimal health. For me, that included 3x a week adjustments at first, tapering to two, then one, then to maintenance mode with an adjustment every other week. Every 6 months we do scans to track progress. It's really amazing to see the curvature of your spine change over time! I sought his help for a bad rotator cuff that many massage therapists and physiotherapists weren't able to fix. Turns out pressure on certain nerves in my spine were the source of the issue and my shoulder was back in action in no time. A happy accident that came out of regular treatment was losing the migraines I had been suffering from for years too!

I see Dr Frickey and she’s amazing! I’ve been having pain in my fingers for a long time and she pinpointed that it was actually from my shoulder. A few sessions later and the pain is gone! She’s never been pushy, she’s been really upfront about all my options and has always made sure I’ve been comfortable. I didn’t find that Physiotherapy helped beyond getting me back to a functional level. I wanted to go back to my old activities and Dr Frickey has helped me do that.

We go to Dr. Shaun Demeris - Carriage square chiropractic in Milton. My oldest is 10 now and has been going to Dr. Shaun since he was 2 years old. My other two kids age 3 and 6 months are also seeing Dr. Shaun. We live in Doon South and it takes us about 35-40 minutes door to door. They are open on Saturdays and we usually schedule in a visit to the Milton Farmers market and make a day trip out of it.

Jennifer Moore at Beechwood Chiropractic. Has student rates, doesn't do the whole 'you need to come weekly' nonsense, uses mutiple adjustment techniques based on personal preference. Closer to Erb and Fisherhallman, 2 minutes from university.
