The Tobin Agency in NJ specializes in RV insurance and they are licensed in 30 states, including NC, and can provide references for other states. I attended their seminar at the Hershey RV show and was impressed with their knowledge, answered all the questions that were asked by the audience. I went with them for my new SS Agile. Did all of it over the phone. Ended up with Progressive.

We also have had State Farm for over 45 years but did not insure the RT with them. They could not provide information that it was a covered as a motorhome. They were stating the chassis type, Chevy Express van. When we did get info it only stated coverage for non motorized recreational vehicle. We ended up insuring with Progressive through AAA. Try them and negotiate what coverage, we have been happy with them so far and hopefully won't ever need them for a claim.

Agreed USAA is the place for us. We have progressive on our 190 and HD through them, and our policy covers the bike trailer/toad too. Worth looking at imo.

Always make sure it is covered as a motorhome. I have State Farm. My first RT was 2010 Agile that was totalled. As a motorhome they have to cover replacement value (no depreciation), so we got more than we paid for it. They were great and I am still with them. We also went down to one vehicle but they gave us 6 mo. to insure we will not get another vehicle. You lost your multi car discount and 10+ year safe driving. Agent should work with you. Many I have seen went with progressive.

When i changed car insurance to State Farm a couple of years ago, my agent asked to see our RV coverage to compare. However, Progressive offered a lower cost and better coverage. Make some phone calls and ask for estimates so you are comparing apples to apples. Good luck!

We had State Farm for 47 years and finally got competitive quotes for auto insurance thru a local independent agent. Travelers was the lowest for exact same coverage and we went from around $1500/year to about $750/year. We insured our RT with Progressive for purchase value of $44000 for $470/year. Drop State Farm as soon as possible they don't really insure RV's
