I suppose you already know of them? http://torontolandlordandtenantlawyer.ca/
Pamela C. replied:
I don't know one, but contact the Law Society of Upper Canada for referrals and a FREE 30-minute consult (instead of Mr. Fink's $150 15 minutes). Then hire Fink if you want, or the one from from LSUC: http://www.lsuc.on.ca/faq.aspx?id=2147486372 Site also has a directory so you can do some homework beforehand or look up referrals from your FB friends: http://www2.lsuc.on.ca/LawyerParalegalDirectory/index.jsp

No rec for you, but if the property is something other than a basic city/ suburban house you will be better off getting a lawyer from your new location. They will know some of the special things to watch for that might be unique to the area

Can anyone recommend a good family law lawyer in the area? Preferably cheap, but someone who can win against a good liar. My parents have been going through a separation...
hambwner replied:
Jennifer Breithaupt of Breithaupt law does this. No one is going to guarantee you can win against a good liar. Jennifer believes in doing what's right and fair and could help your mom out. She specializes in divorces, is very professional, and knowledgeable. Good luck! It's really terrible when people try to take advantage.

Gerry Schaffer (http://www.schafferlaw.ca) handled my case. Good guy.

Fred Heimbecker is an old school, no bullshit lawyer. If nothing else he would refer you to someone that would be suitable.
silverbullet1 replied:
>He makes enough to afford a good slimy lawyer who supports his BS lies. Keep in mind the job of a lawyer is to advocate for their clients' position, and usually client spins a tale to the lawyer that sounds convincing. The lawyer might be slime, but he might just be doing his job. Source: I'm a family lawyer in Toronto, have represented slime - would not recommend.

Lorrie Stojni. I know her personally, and she puts a high priority on getting a deal done and doesn't waste time with scheming or tricks. If you want to get a good deal done quickly (to avoid huge legal fees) you should give her a call
