Does anyone happen to know of a doctor here in the island that doesn't charge $200 to walk in the door? Mine was affordable until I got "insurance," meaning Obamacare. ...

Sentara Urgent care is $60! Just went last week

I work at the Obx Hospital, you have the right not to bill your insurance company & be self pay so I'm pretty sure our Urgent Care is the same way, you sign the same consent

Checkout Liberty health share.... Obamacare is whack
Susan A. replied:
actually, you should check out your insurance -the deductible applies to procedures and testing usually, and there is a flat rate to see a doctor, esp your primary care doctor (which if you don't have one, you should look at getting one). Also prescriptions usually have a co-pay - again not part of the deductible - and you pay as little as $5 for a generic up to $50 or $60 for common brand names. some medications are never covered however, so please be careful what the doctor orders for you. Walmart is prob the cheapest place for medications. The Dare Co health people have income guidelines - and you prob exceed them - not your fault, but also not the fault of people that are unable to work either. Call your health plan and find out what your co-pay (not deductible) is for a doctor's visit - and the annual physical, including labs is usually FREE.

Alexandra Most of the people in America have a job. don't have to go to Obamacare and for me Obama don't have to pick witch doctor. So yes I'm bitching about this because that's what wrong with America voting for kHillary like outing Obama again another 4 years in the White House . And obviously most Americans taxpayer pay for that Obamacare so you can afford to get it .

Duck Medical in Duck.. after your Obamacare discount the office visit should be less than $50. You can make appointments..

Obamacare is one of the most overused terms. Bush began the Affordable Health Care crap. Not sticking up for ant president.. Just clarifying. I still have no insurance and I can't afford it, fall into that nice gray area where Medicaid covers in other states. But...thanks to our pos governor, there's no gap coverage like other states. Thanks, McCrory.

I go to Dr Owens in Currituck. Used to be $40/ visit, but I think it's $60 now.

We are cash pay ourselves. Just went to the Urgent Care in KH and it was $100 for a visit and a culture. That included a 30% discount for paying cash.

I had one on my face about the size of a nickel also. Dr. Glover removed it and you can't even see that is was there. Because it was on my face she used a chemo cream instead of removing it. It was really ugly before it got better but eventually it fell off and it's nice and smooth there now.

I'm sorry you're going through all that. Acupuncture is pretty amazing if you haven't tried it yet (Cheryl Blankenship at https://www.facebook.com/131050063593969 Island Acupuncture and Massage is wonderful!), but I'm not sure about surgeons. Wishing you the best and hoping you get the care you need!

I have a bad tear in my disc, I re-injured (even worse than the first tear) it on Jan. 30, so it's been quite the road to travel. Seeing chiropractor Dr. Hall441-1001 has really helped, a recliner that sits me up to standing and a tall toilet helps at home... and 3 times a day, Turmeric Curcumin Capsules-with BioPerine Black Pepper Extract from Amazon...I feel you, good luck!!! Oh, and always, Ice Ice Ice!!!

I have several disc collapsed and I have been using Bio Freeze. It seems to help--short term. I bought a quart with a dispenser from Amazon bc it was the cheapest way to go with the quantities I use. Dr. Hall is amazing. If anyone can help he can. I am thinking of surgery with Dr. David Vincent in Virginia. i also have a TNS machine, It's the contraption Dr. Hall hooksa you up to that feels like it is buzzing on back. Good Luck.
Looking for recommendations for a doctor, can be in NC or VA. I need a specialist for rare diseases. Anyone know anyone good? Already have an appointment with a...
Susan A. replied:
likely need a particular kind of specialist - and maybe the best place to start is with your insurance company (they will know who is covered by your insurance, and usually have up to date info if the doc is taking new patients). If you already have a doc in another area of the country, that is covered bby insurance, that perhaps made this diagnosis, call that office and ask for a referral to someone here that specializes in your diagnosis. What I can tell you is that I kept our docs in Maryland when we moved down here - bc they have all the background etc. and know us. it is a total pain to go there, but I know that they are good. Dr. Jamie Fountain in Avon is a great personal doc, and that is who we have as our primary care physician.
So the dermatologist calls to tell me that the doctors' office has sent over my paperwork. nothing major, don't worry. So the derm called to tell me that they do not...
