Download Glassdoor app and you might get lucky at Red Lobster. That's where I work and that's how I got the job but not as waitress though. Wouldn't hurt to try that.

I love love love this, Ricky Smith. Went to alllllllllllll these places you mentioned. Danced to disco tunes at The Capri (Maplecrest Plaza, in the back). My best friend's family (the Ng's) owned the China Clipper so I'd go there with her. I wrote about Burger Chef in Kokomo Kid.

The Coachman Inn was where our family lived for about three weeks when we moved here in October 72. It had a two story long term apartment suite. The Inn must have been scraped in the late 80 s to make way for McCools carpet store.

Country Squire is still at Lincoln & Webster. Kfc is next to the old McClintock furniture store on N Washington. I know it's been there at least 37 years.
Any non-chain restaurant suggestions in Kokomo for tonight?

Tacos are quite sub-par.. In my opinion Don Panchos has a much morr authentic flava!!:). there's a new fine dining restaurant on the west end of town called A. Michaels, crab cakes filets etc. I have heard nothing but good things about them! Next time you + Annie are downtown for lunch come on in, bring the kids to a little cafe called Main Street Cafe on Mulberry + Main! We have delicious salads, homemade soups, healthy wraps, and hearty sandwiches .... even have that good pretzel bread ...wonderful coffees, smoothies, fresh brewed tea....the whole shabang;)
Please help me with this! On Burlington Ave. where the old IGA use to be there was a restaurant for awhile. Anyone know the name of the restaurant? Had the best Biscuits...
Sue S. replied:
I worked at Deckard's IGA all through high school 65- 69 - It did not stink - we kept it clean and the meat department was first class - Dick Deckard was a great boss until he had financial problems- then his dad, Roy, took over running both stores - Roy always ran the store on Erie Ave. and the restaurant which was on down Burlington by the Tire Store. Roy was a good boss too and did a lot of good for people on the southside. Lola Hastings, Rita Neal, Joe Frushour, Rick Gotshall and Larry?,Ralph? and Phyllis were a great group to work with. Years later I was glad to see what AL and Navi had done to the place - it was a nice restaurant.

Yes, I was a cashier - We were robbed once - some guy came in and pointed a gun wanted the money in the drawer - I gave him the smaller bills but didn't lift the drawer for the bigger ones - same guy robbed Kesling Drugs same day. Police said he robbed us coming into town and Keslings on way out!
Anyone remember the big tin man that was in front of a business on Markland? Also, close to there a restaurant called the Weed Patch. Great hot dogs and chili.
