Trouble Im having is we are just going up for one night and alot of the 3/4/5 star hotels minimum stay is 2/3 nights. Have found the Avenida Apartments in Old Town and you can use facilities of hotel opposite. As long as clean & good location.

Could you stop in Pamplona and then you'll have about a 6/6.5 hour journey the next day? We stay at The Hotel Zenit Pamplona and it's lovely! I know Pamplona isn't anywhere near Madrid but it would make your day a bit less tiring!
