Folks, I'm looking for some unique restaurants that I can get to by water. Any suggestions? We have all adults no kids. Thanks!

Not sure where you dock but The Local Eatery in Laconia is worth the walk or swim. Just park the boat and go there

Lavinias and Canoe in Center Harbor. Lavinias is right in front of EM Heath grocery store short walking distance across the street from the docks and Canoe if you call they will send a shuttle to pick you up. Guiseppes, Lago and the Lake house grille in Meredith.

Weirs Beach has a new Mexican Restaurant that just opened up a few weeks ago. (They have one in Tilton, too.) It is El Jimador. The lounge is upstairs and dining room downstairs. A 10-15 minute walk from the docks. Head to the main road. We went there Friday night, and it was packed. Great food and drinks. There is also a mexican bar -- Crazy Gringos -- across the street from the docks if that is the atmosphere you want. Good margs but food not that great. Again, it is a bar.

All great suggestions so far. I dont know about unique places, but I will add Lyons Den in Gilford, park at the Glendale docks New marine patrol building). Great views, good food. In Meredith we love the town docks Commonman for the islandy feel and Giuseppes at the Mill Shops across the street. Last plug is the wine tasting at Hermit Woods in Meredith too.
What is the best restaurant on the lake with / near public docks?

Love me some camp crackers! Pops Clamshell in Alton Bay is great as long as you are OK with the "take out" mentality. Order it up, wait for your number to be called, and go get it. The food has always been great.
Joe G. replied:
Try AKWA near Weirs, Canoe has a shuttle, O Wolfeboro has a shuttle,

The Wolfe Trap Grill is good too. You can park at public docks and walk to it or if the boat is small enough you can go under the bridge right to it

I always liked docking in Center Harbor and walking up to Lemongrass. http://lemongrassnh.net/ Awesome food and a nice experience. Not too far of a walk and worth it.

Our favorite is El Centenario but you can also check out www.destinationharbor.com for a complete list of restaurants on the lake by city. Everything on the website is accessible by boat.

https://www.facebook.com/108083255900528https://www.facebook.com/120424074636945 Camp in Meredith, across the street from Town Docks Restaurant. Decor is reminiscent of summer camp days, screen door, fieldstone fireplace, carved pine tables. Not on the water but just across the street.

Moultonborough has the loon center, Lees mills, Tuftonboro has the bay store and ice cream, there's the Libby museum across the street at winter harbor. Center Harbor has a few eating spots. This end of the lake is pretty bleak

You don't need stores for kids to have fun.... Try gently bringing your boat into Blueberry Island on weekday mornings.... Nice natural sandy beach on the Black Cat Island Bridge side... Weekends get crowded early but a nice quiet natural experience for the family during the week Much nicer than docking and spending $ at the previously mentioned destinations.... Pack a lunch and have fun

Has anyone been to the restaurant on Cow Island? We are going tonight.
Sandi G. replied:
Just googled it and found this..::Gus’ Lodge at Cow Island This restaurant might just be one of the lake’s best kept secrets. Rumor has it that nestled in a quiet corner on Cow’s Island is a family-run restaurant that abounds with spectacular food, top-notch service, and family-friendly entertainment. But hold your horses! Before you go scrambling to make a reservation at this dream restaurant, make sure you have at least 26 friends and family that you’d like to invite and an appetite for a five-course meal. You might also need a bit of patience, as the tables at Mama Lucy’s (as it’s also called) tend to fill up as fast as the powerboats that go thundering by. Call (603)-253-4440 to make your reservation.
It may be the off season; but, I would Iike to recommend two great places to patronize - First is Tavern 27, they have to be the best restaurant in Laconia. The...
