You might want to try giving European Gourmet in Arvada a call. That's where we get most of our Polish food, I would bet they have pączki. Sawa Sausage might have them too, but usually European Gourmet has a better baked goods selection.

Bittersweet Confections on Main Street in Louisville are the best! Great coffee (they roast the beans themselves!), yummy baked goods, delicious food, locally owned by a very sweet couple. Can't go wrong!

Has anyone seen these at local bakeries? Thank you!
Olivia A. replied:
The dark one is made with poppy seeds, you may find them at European Gourmet in Arvada. Haven't seen makowiec (that's what's it's called in Polish) closer than that.
Allison E. replied:
I found them once from a Russian baker at the Boulder County Farmers Market. There's Rheinlander Bakery in Arvada who might also. I've resorted to ordering them from the Kiffle Kitchen in Pennsylvania when I get desperate. My grandmother was Hungarian and we just called it "nut roll." I don't remember the proper name. My favorite had apricot as the filling.

Kim L. replied:
Button Rock is soooo good. Carrot cake to die for (and I don't like carrot cake), chocolate cake & key lime pie were really delicious too!
I second Kim and Jake's. If you aren't looking for something custom you can pick one up at Alfalfas:)

Anyone in Lafayette know of a restaurant or bakery nearby that makes zeppoles? I don’t know if it is just an east coast Italian treat, or if someone nearby makes them,...
Crystal A. replied:
I fly back to NYC all the time to get them! We so need a real Italian bakery out here. https://www.facebook.com/102132959822693Villabate Alba in Brooklyn recently started shipping out here. I'll call them tomorrow and find out.
I'm in need of a cake bakery in the area for a 1st birthday cake and cake smash cake...can anyone recommend a good one that is affordable?! Thank you! :)
Pam O. replied:
King Soopers makes decent smash cakes if you're looking to spend a small amount. There is a decent bakery in old town Louisville you might want to check out for the adult cake (don't have address but they are the only bakery in town). There is also a bakery next to Lui's and Slices but I have not yet tasted their cakes.
Krista B. replied:
