The best color specialist in the entire area is Lisa Schmal, at Paul Morrison Colours in Boulder. She fixed my daughter's hair the day before an important event, and she fixed a friend's hair when other stylists had tried. I know a model who drives all the way up from Castle Rock to have her do her color.

Voodoo Lounge in Boulder does a phenomenal job, though they're pricey. The key is to look for a DevaCurl-trained stylist. In case you don't know about this, "Curly hair is cut in its natural form: dry, not wet. Each curl is individually shaped and the style is based on the individual." When I cut my hair, it's a bit more like trimming a shrub.:) It's one section at a time, dry, with the intent of it looking how I want to look when it's done.
