Lived here my whole life and I Highly recommend Kundlas BBQ amazing! I'd stay away from Charcoal Chucks because it's not real BBQ, the service sucks and long wait for nothing. Welcome to Town (:
Sam M. replied:
Ritters Roadside by Goose Pond Road is a great place to get produce. Stay away from Wal-Mart,everything is made in China and the food comes from Mexico. Another great place for breakfast and lunch is Lori's Diner by Hamlin Corners. Fresh cut fries! Dutch's Supermarket in Newfoundland is good and Lake Region IGA in Hawley is also nice. If you don't mind a drive Shop Rite in Daleville is the best supermarket.
Hi everyone !! I'm so excited to be moving to this beautiful community ! We're relocating from NY by mid July and I couldn't be any happier! I also have a 14 month old...

Welcome to The HO. My family has been here part time for 33 years and love it. I would spend all summer here with my sons who were 3 and 7 when we purchased our first home. The people are great and the availability of things to do is endless. We have a great dog park if you need it and the summer camps for kids are reasonably priced. This is a wonderful site to get information and so is the one called Hideout Owners and Members.

Dickson City is where it's at. You'll find Aspen Dental, Starbucks, and lots of good restaurants. Close to the Hideout Trios Restaurant and Johns. Eye doctor, she's in Waymart, her name is Dr. Zyeik. She's wonderful and thorough. Welcome!

Welcome! I just moved in a few months ago with my now 18 month old son! We absolutely love it, he has a blast at the beaches & playgrounds. We use Dr. Rickard@Pediatric Practices in Honesdale (about a 15 min drive) she's absolutely amazing, very educated and sweet.
Nikki F. replied:
Welcome to the neighborhood! We have a two month old and a 3.5 year old. For pediatrician we see Dr. Hellstern in Honesdale. Dr. Rickard is awesome too though. Dentist we see Dr. Ahmizadi (not sure how to spell it) right in town and have always been pleased. Italian food we love trios and Kay's. Coffee... Yeah, your choices are basically gas station, dunkin, or dickson city. Truthfully I like my ninja coffee bar in my kitchen the best

Can anyone recommend some good restaurants near the Hideout?
Donna S. replied:
Charcoal Chucks is 7 minutes from the new gate in the North Section. Really good food, BBQ, steaks, GOOD pizza:) .....even the NYers approve ! HUGe outdoor playground for the kids with a walk up counter and bar outside. It is on Rt 191 toward Honesdale.
Frank I. replied:
Not too many good restaurants in the area - many of them think that they are something that they are not... lol.... Liberty Restaurant in Lake Ariel isn't bad if you want someplace inexpensive to eat, Ron's Diner in Hamlin has a good breakfast buffet, as for John's Italian Restaurant - in the last 22 years I think it's gotten downhill and over priced for what it is, Kay Restaurant in Lake ariel has good food, but their Danville location is better. As for Pizza, Liberty has the cheapest, Kay's is good but is expensive, John's pizza is too expensive -- Honestly, do yourself a favor and go to Dickson City, down there it's Restaurant Row -- every type of food that you can think of. And if you go towards I81 south to Avoca, The Iron Skillet in the Petro Truck stop has great breakfast buffett and (not sure if they stil do it) but on Fri nights they used to have a seagood buffett that has great crab legs -- unlike the chinese restaurants that waterlog them, they steam theirs. Speaking of Chinese -- do yourself a favor and go to Tappenyaki or Roya;'s in Dickson City -- really great chinese buffett... The one in Hamlin sucks ! The only difference between lunch and dinner at that one in Hamlin is the Price -- was much better when they opened up 20 years ago, now it's downhill. Oh yeah, and the Settler's Inn in Hawley is good also for fine dining.
Has anyone been to the clubhouse or the restaurant next to it . 9th hole pub lately? Has it improved??? Want to give it another go but...... Monica Nurminen Oake
