I'm in the exact same boat as you. I've started seeing someone I chose at random off of Psychology Today, and she's eh. Hardly anyone finds the right fit right away, so remember that you can always keep looking, and you *should* continue to look until you find a good fit. Good luck!

As a therapist thats my professional exp. working with psychiatrists and as a consumer. Your opinion that they prescribe just to prescribe is wrong. Lots of people are biased against medications as yourself and I know because Ive worked with them and treated them and when things are very severe medications makes a big difference specially to start and yes combined with therapy . I was one of them, meds work wonders. I dont think you have exo. using them or seeing clients get drastically better because of it.

He's super compassionate and insightful. He helped me tremendously years ago.

Dr. John Yurick, his office is on 434 in Longwood. About 4 years ago I went and saw him a few times, it was my first time ever visiting a therapist and I cannot say enough great things about him. He’s straight up and blunt in his approach. For some people that works, he doesn’t fluff it up and tell you what you want to hear. Guy saved my life.

Hi, I would suggest to also see a psychiatrist for medications so it’s easier to then seek a therapist because your feeling stronger and less anxiety. I would recommend to face your anxiety when you go out, while looking people directly and smiling and remember we all feel a little uncomfortable and nervous but as we get older it gets better because we then feel the hell of it, who cares. I went through some problems a while ago and I couldn't even find anyone who wasn't booked six months out. I got over it with St. Johns Wort and hard liquor before offing myself but I never did end up getting an appointment anywhere.

I can't recommend anyone as I'm in the process of looking myself. I can tell you I absolutely DO NOT reccomend Hope For Tomorrow. I can't remember the therapist's name now as it's been almost a year since I last saw her but it only took a few sessions for her to start bringing up Jesus to me even though she knew that I wasn't interested and had, let's just say bad, experiences related to religion. The final straw was when she accused me of "faking" my anxiety despite dozens of more qualified doctors having diagnosed me from a young age and, well, my own feelings. All I needed was Jesus and I would never feel anxious/depressed/suicidal again and my PTSD would be completely cured. I politely left and never came back.

Stephan Monteserin at Solace Counseling. Across from Starbucks near Lake Eola. He changed my life. I met him when I was at the lowest point of my life. He totally helped me navigate some very difficult situations. I now feel like the person I’ve always meant to be. I am at the top of my game right now for the first time ever in my life. He’s amazing, kind, and very insightful.

I am really getting a lot from my sessions with Indira at A Better Life Counseling. They’re on 436 near Baldwin Park. It was easy to make the first appointment and everything since then has been smooth. It can be so hard just to wade through all the bullshit just to find someone. I was very relieved to find Indira. Hang in there.
