If you're willing to consider non-hotels, try www.airbnb.com. Private home-owners renting out their properties directly, with reviews from previous customers etc.

Hotels.com is really good bill then ring the hotel to reserve through them.my husband used to work for inn on the lake at ullswater he recommends it

I've been to Sharks Bay but stayed in a 4*. My brother stays at The Four Seasons Resort there every year and highly recommends it. Heard the Baron Resort is also mean't to be good xx
