I agree that holy spirit is your best chance, but Heart of Lancaster is a close second. I would also seriously consider a doula. No matter what kind of birth you have a doula is incredibly helpful. Heart of Lancaster is great with working with doula's to allow them in the OR with you. Having a doula in the OR helps with immediate skin to skin and breastfeeding in the OR. I am looking for a new doctor for general healthcare for myself. Prefer a DO but will try out others. Generally close to Lancaster City. Any suggestions?

I absolutely love my general physician(s) at Toomey & Toomey. I've been going for over 20 years (Jason too) and I can't say enough great things about them. Here's some info I pulled off the net about them: http://www.wellness.com/dir/2424696/general-practitioner/pa/lancaster/david-toomey-community-way-medical-ctr-do

I know it’s far but Hershey medical centers dermatology department takes new patients. It’s just a doctors office at their main campus. And they have an acute care clinic that’s kinda like an urgent care. Can’t recommend them enough. I was told to expect a long wait for the acute care clinic, but I was seen in 15 minutes after filling out paperwork.
Need opinions on two practices I'm looking into for family practice/pediatrics. We currently drive 45 min one way (had an amazing physician since Dominic's birth) but...

We have been with Constoga (Dr. Waskowicz for years, and I have always been pleased. Their office staff is super, while years ago we sometimes had long waits, that problem seems to have resolved itself the last few years. Dr. always takes time, and has a very good way of explaining things as well.

BACA Pediatrics caters to hypochondriacs and over admits to the hospital. They are arrogant and often over hospitalize, over use antibiotics and miss real issues. I have her nothing but great stuff about Conestoga .
Jess N. replied:
Some people love BACA and others hate them. They are quick and sometimes rude sounding, but they get the job done. There's no relationship building there, in my experience. They do the pediatrics for Ephrata Hospital and are often times very busy and/or only allow you to come in during a very specific time frame. We had some bad experiences regarding shots/billing that took years and years to settle. I guess I wouldn't go there unless it was absolutely necessary... but then again, others love them. Not much help, huh? Rachelle, I believe, used to work for Conestoga Family Practice. Perhaps she would be of some help to you??
Kendra G. replied:
We LOVE Dr. Waskowicz from Conestoga Family Practice. He is really wonderful. I recommend him to everyone. We actually have taken our kiddos to a pediatrician practice that we like (Not Conestoga), so I can't tell you specifically about kids, although my sister in law takes her kiddos to Dr. Waskowicz and loves him.
Rachelle B. replied:
I worked at Crossroads Family Medicine, in Brownstown....I think Conestoga family practice is closer to you right? But I don't know anything about them But I LOOOOVE Crossroads And BACA....well....I've heard mixed reports about them too, mostly on the negative side. After Ethans circumcision that Dr Lancelotti did, I called them and right away they transferred my call to him and he told me to come right in and calmed my fears. All that to say, he is quite uh arrogant it seems Hope you find one that's just right for your fam!
Carrie E. replied:
I don't know you Amber but I didn't say that you were a hypochondriac. I can say though that I know at least 5 nurses who have worked directly with that outfit and do say the same thing as me. I have direct experience with using his practice briefly and I am entitled to an opinion whether or not you like it. I met a child who was admitted under that service to the Pediatric Unit for asthma and she was running around their unit with her IV pole. I know people that have that group and their kids are always in the hospital. ALWAYS...for stuff you could care for at home. We know another family that had them and they told us that if you tell the doctor you want your kid admitted he does it. You cant build a relationship...they are notorious for being quick and rude and especially for misdiagnosis. We went to Reading Pediatrics....love them. They are open 365 days per year and they are open 7 am - 10 pm. Never have any issues.....ever and my kids are always appropriately cared for.
Carrie E. replied:
Oh....and Dr. Lancellotti's former partner also went to Reading. The things that make you say...hmmmmm.
Amber M. replied:
Oh I wasn't saying you can't have an opinion. Not at all. IM just saying that since I have dealt with them longer then briefly, and yes, when Dr. Legaspi was there, it was just a bit harsh and rude sounding. That's all. I don't know you either but I would want a little more information about a doctors office then from someone who briefly dealt with one patient/family. I do have a relationship with them, my children are appropriately cared for, when I have questions, Dr. Lancellotti always takes the time to answer them and has been doing so for the last 9 years. I'm glad you like Reading Pediatrics. I've heard good things about them too. I just wanted Sara Lehman to hear the good with the bad.
Heidi S. replied:
We have always gone to Dr. Wascowitz at CFP. He has great bedside manner. I can't say enough good about him. You can talk to me about specifics if you want. Both Dr's and the CRNP that work at the office are Christians as well as many of the office staff. I don't really have any experience with Baca except that when Tasha was born and started turning blue Lancellotti was the one that treated her. I appreciated his concern for Tasha. When all tests came back ok, he said "as Dr's, sometimes we have all the answers, and sometimes we don't." I liked his honesty. He seemed humble at least in that moment. I have "heard" he is difficult to work for although I know someone who has worked for him forever and she has stuck around. Either she has thick skin or he isn't as bad as I hear. If you want a Pediatrician I would go the Baca if you don't care and just want a good Dr, I'd go to CFP.
Maria F. replied:
I can't say anything about those two practices, but I can recommend Crossroads (just a few miles farther for you than Conestoga Family Practice). We take our kids to Crossroads and they see Dr. Sneller. He is often running behind, but he is so thorough and does not rush you. He is so patient with all my questions!
