No need for a gym. Get out walking regularly and try to add short jogs in. Join the parkrun, free, ever Saturday and can be walked. http://www.parkrun.org.uk/guernsey/
Laura Kreckler or Kirsty Smith who run the Weight Watchers groups here are the people to speak to! Reasonably priced and you can still eat what you like on it, it's amazing

Which gym do people recommend is the best in Launceston? Looking at starting to go again:)
Jade F. replied:
It depends what you're after. There are four gyms and they've all got their strengths depending what your focus is. I go to Activ8 (aka Crunch Gym) by DS Smith. I'm a powerlifter and it's the only gym in town which has freeweight barbells (Pro Gym and Phoenix just have a smith machine) so it's perfect for me. It's got power racks and lots of weight machines, punch bags, cardio equipment and martial arts classes. It's 24 hour access. Pro-Gym Launceston and Saltash is where a lot of bobybuilders go. It's got a wide range of weight machines and dumbbells. It's also 24 hour access. Phoenix Leisure Centre is a fairly typical leisure centre gym with dumbbells and the basic range of cardio and weight machines you'd expect to see. It has limited opening times but obviously also has the swimming pool, etc and you can pay per session if you'd prefer not to pay monthly. Curves Launceston is a women-only gym focused on short low-resistance circuits and tends to be used by those who don't want the typical gym experience. These are the impressions I've built up of them - other people might see them very differently! But basically it's down to what you want to do when you get there as they're all set up for different types of training and interests.
Tom G. replied:
Hi Chloe, I wouldn't say the Phoenix Leisure Centre has limited opening times or a basic range of weights. We have Dumbbells up to 40 kg and are opening from 6.30 am weekday until 9.30 pm and from 8 am weekends until 5.30 pm.
