Tax filing service Can anyone recommend a cheap accountant/service other than DIY tax software, in the Gwinnett area? Filing two W2's and house taxes, single, no kids....
whoreallyknowsanymor replied:
Why would you pay someone to do them? That will be an extremely simple form. You could fill out the paper 1040 in all of about 15 minutes.
MonoAmericano replied:
Paid $17.99 with TaxAct to file my taxes, and mine sound like they were more complicated than yours would be. Why would you not do it DIY? CPAs charge like $150 for a *non*-itemized return...which is seriously just filling out some blanks in a couple forms. The only reason you would need to hire someone to do your taxes is if you have seriously complicated finances. Anything short of owning a decent sized business or being involved in international assets, then take the 20 minutes to do them yourself for 1/20 th the cost.
_Justified_ replied:
Any reason why you dont want to DIY? Its pretty much "fill in the blank"
ern19 replied:
You're wasting your money taking it to someone tbh
TaintTrauma replied:
Most people who do taxes don't want to do simple fill in the blank stuff. So it falls under a minimum charge.
