Can anyone recommend a vet around here? I just moved, and I was never really a fan of our old vet and don't want to drive an hour to somewhere...

I also suggest Winterville Animal Clinic! http://www.vetscenewb.net/ClinicWebSite/VetWebMainForm_1.aspx?Menu_ID=31 Worth a small drive but make appointments early as they tend to stay crowded in the afternoons! We took our pit mix there for two years! Hate that we had to move away.

I was going to suggest Winterville Animal Clinic, but they are in Winterville. I have heard good things about Good Hands Vet though

Wellspring Animal Hospital in Covington. Their prices are affordable as well.
I'm looking for a good vet...does anybody recommend one? Been going to Cumming but it's so far.
Sherry H. replied:
YES I have an awesome one. The only thing is, I'm not sure they are taking new patients. You'd just have to ask. Martha Shannon in Jefferson, or any of the other doctors in her practice. Especially Dr. Neilson. (706) 367-1198. Let them know you know me. I'm pretty good friends with most everyone there.
Cristi K. replied:
We take ours to Walton Gwinnett Animal Clinic on 78. They saved Shmoopy's life.
Susan A. replied:
We take Shelby to Grayson Vet Hospital. Dr. Tolliver is good with her. He is on 20 close to Ozora.
Susan A. replied:
If you just want a cheap one for their shots there is Dr. Farris in Loganville. He charges probably $40-50 an animal for yearly. He is a very strange man with zero personality. If you need cheap he is your man! If you friend Boss Brothers Country S...See More
Marsha C. replied:
Yes it gets expensive!!! But I want a good vet!! No I don't like Dr Farris either. Used him one time and never went back. You're right he has NO personally!!
Susan A. replied:
I know what you mean. We used Dr. Dickerson at Walton Gwinnett and he is good but our last Boxer had arthritis and was on rimadyl which is prescription and expensive. He charged me to write a prescription to use 1-800- petmeds because they were cheap...See More

Marsha, we have been taking Seger to PETSMART since we got him. We really like them. But, no VET is as good as Dr. Orr and his staff. Just too far for us to go there all the time.
Donna R. replied:
See I live in Cumming! I love Dr Orr!!
Marsha C. replied:
I know Jeff Hall...I've used them for years and years. Dr Orr has always had a Rottweiler and knows how to handle them. They are good on price too!! But yes it's sooo far!!
Debbie F. replied:
We use Dr. Wayne Wallace at Gwinnett Animal Clinic. We have known him a long time he is a friend of the family & he is awesome with pets . I'd rather take my animals to Wayne than anyone else that I know. And Roxie & Andy both love him.:)
Darlene K. replied:
I have to be honest. Dr. Orr is the best ever. I know it is far. But Marsha please do not use the one on Hwy 20 in Lawrenceville on the right I think next to u s auto sales and near Bailey's machine shop. Our cocher spanel went blind and had pain bad t...See More
Susan A. replied:
I have had Shelby's steroids filled at Walgreens before. The vet school is actually cheaper which was a big shock to me! The stuff that Peaches was on was unreal. Dr. Dickerson's scenario would be like you going to you doctor and him saying you can't go to anyone but me for your medicine. He is money hungry. I know friends that used to work there that say he is not easy to work for either!
Susan A. replied:
You should read the online reviews for Dr. Farris. Not many like his cantankerous ways! LOL
Ina Z. replied:
Wow'''. Is melvin sick. Again.? Just kidding''. Ms Ina
Mita C. replied:
You can ask for Ansley Bourchier ( she works at suwanee animal hospital she can help you out

For vaccines, I recommend Dr. Woods in downtown Norcross. He's usually more reasonable than anyone else and has been in business since before we were kids.
Rosalyn P. replied:
I love Gwinnett Animal clinic and been there last 16 years
Tammy B. replied:
We use Wayne Wallace in Lawrenceville for our three dogs and he is great and his staff is wonderful.
Susan D. replied:
I agree Dr. Wallace, Gwinnett Animal clinic is awesome! Used them for years before we moved to Duluth.
Juli N. replied:
Heart of Suwanee Animal Hospital is great. I take all 4 of my dogs there. They have an express clinic for 55$ if you us teed vaccines and no visit with the vet. Dr Jackson is great too. He kept our Patch with us much longer than we expected and did an amazing job on removing Majors tumor and treating his cancer.
Steve W. replied:
Wayne Wallace, the best I think.
Meg M. replied:
Yes Dacula animal hospital. On winder highway, right past Dacula on the left. The docs there really know there stuff. Dr. Montgomery owns it.
Rhonna B. replied:
DO NOT use Loganville Vet on pecan street! I used them years ago, recommended them to a friend. She took her young lab there, the doctor slapped it in the face bc it was rowdy. Noosed it at the table, and when the dog fell off the table he let her hang there to "teach her a lesson." Owner had to rescue the dog and put it upright on the table. I withdrew my business and will never go back there!!! Steer clear!!
Marsha C. replied:
Donna Pruitt Robertson...that's who I've used for years. It wasn't so far when we lived in Suwannee but now it takes me an hour just to get there. I love Dr Orr and they are not as expensive either .
Marsha C. replied:
I've tried the one in Grayson if you're talking about Dr Tolliver but he was mean to my Rottweiler and I left. I don't think they know how to deal with them kind of dogs.
Kathy N. replied:
We've been using Lilburn Animal Hospital on 29 for 40 years. Best vet EVER is Nicolle Budreaux. We'd never go anywhere else.
Anyone know of a good orthopedic surgeon veterinarian that can amputate a dogs leg?

So sorry to hear about Stella Greg & Brandy. Is she in pain? I had a lab pup that was gonna be put to sleep because he had a deformed front leg. I took him home with me and he lived a long time on 3 legs....but he wasn't in any pain.
Martin S. replied:
Oh shit man. Definitely go to the UGA vet in Athens. That's where we took Obie to have her spinal surgery. They will work a miracle.
HELP! I went away for 3 days and came home to a very sick rat! She is very underweight and is having a lot of trouble breathing!
I have no way to take her to the vet....
