Pearland Friends can you recommend a great vet for a small dog? One of my previous clients and super neighbors Johnny Dotson is looking for a trusty referral. I would...
Derrellyn Y. replied:
I LOVE my vet. Compassionate and persistent on behalf of his patients. Here is a link for the phone, address and a couple of reviews from other patients. I think Dr. Collins and his staff are wonderful. http://www.yelp.com/biz/shadow-creek-vet-pearland

I second Pearland Pet Health Center, for routine care and special cases. My dogs have had it all and they've always been there.
Terri L. replied:
Pearland Pet Health Center. Very good!!!
Amy M. replied:
Heritage animal hospital in Forrest of Friendswood, close to Pearl and, is awesome. Dr. Kivney and staff treat my 3 Chihuahuas like their own, and they have gone out of their way to research non typical issues I have had. I have been using them for about 17 years.
I need a vet recommendation. I think my dog has an ear infection and I just need that fixed for a reasonable price. Went with my other dog for the same thing a few...

Dr. Scott Grant on 518
Shana O. replied:
We also love Dr. Huber. Just good old fashioned veterinary medicine. No frills or doggy spa and he shoots straight.
Brenda R. replied:
My dog got injured and our vet was not available so they recommended I take him to the Clear Springs Animal Hospital on 518. The vet was a very nice guy, good with the dog, and very thorough. He checked the dog over and gave him a few days worth of Rimadyl for swelling and pain. Then he went above and beyond and expressed his glands (sorry) and cleaned his ears. All of this for only $69.75. I may have inadvertently found a new vet.
Rene' R. replied:
Bay Glenn Animal Hospital - Dr. Long. Awesome doctor!
Tracy W. replied:
Just took my dog in to Dr. Huber based on the recommendations here and wanted to say thanks. It’s nice to see a Veterinarian that pays attention to my dog not my wallet. Bear had a spot on his lip for the past 4 years other vets wanted to biopsy the spot to check for cancer. $$$ Dr. Huber just poked it with a needle and turns out just a big zit. If you are looking for a Vet he would be a great place to start.

x2 on Dr. Huber
Phoebe M. replied:
We go to FW Animal Clinic too. They're great.
Gail H. replied:
We love Dr. Huber! He's quirky, but that's OK. Can you believe he is over 60?
Crystal K. replied:
Love Dr Huber on 518 in LC, but it is walk-in only. He doesn't try to sell us expensive products or unnecessary services. We love his staff too
Wendy L. replied:
I second Dr. Huber! He's great, an old school vet, and won't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Another reasonably priced great vet is Long Drive Animal Clinic. They're a bit of a drive and cater to a different crowd, but the vets there are all fantastic and they are much cheaper than the vets in our area.
AmynSonny W. replied:
I'm a third chime in for Dr. Huber, just don't take the kids with you...he has a sailor's mouth but is a fabulous vet!
Gail H. replied:
Dr. Huber is an old hippie, but he knows his stuff! He's constantly giving you things for free. He just loves what he does.

ALWAYS Chehalis-Centralia Vet Clinic. You are treated with kindness and respect and your animals are well cared for. Can not say that for other local vet clinics....
Alexis K. replied:
Fords Prairie or Cascade West. I give my own shots and have the vet do check ups and rabies.

UPDATE: Our precious girl is being treated for Demodex and Pyoderma. Dr. Amyx said it looks like she has KCS (Keratoconjunctivitis sicca - or "dry eye") due to her chronic cornea scars, but said that It's hard to tell with her severe skin infection around the eyes. Also, several of her meibomian gland ducts in the eyelids have pustules due to infection. She has really bad teeth and some of her premolars are loose with a lot of root exposure. She also has a large mammary tumor on her last gland on the right side and a small mammary nodule on the 2 nd gland on the right side as well. Once we have her main issues under control, she will be spayed and have the mammary tumors removed.

Check Southbay Vet. They got us in on an emergency on a Sunday and took very good care of our cat. Within the limits of our budget.
Donna L. replied:
Brenda you are absolutely right! Marys Corner Vets love our animals like we do and it's not all about the almighty dollar with them. They truly care. I paid Cascase West 18.95 just to get nails trimmed. That's outrageous as far as I'm concerned. I have no problem at all paying the price if they care about what they are doing and my pet but at Cascade I felt like "just the next number in line to be seen" and I paid dearly for the whole visit. Just to clarify, I used to go to Cascade before they built their new office and never felt this way when I had to go there. Now I feel like I am paying for the new building they decided to build, prices nearly doubled on alot of things.
