We have had State Farm for everything for years. We had a fire and two car wrecks all in the same month and they never balked. Paid everything and never even raised our rates.

Did you look at your policy? The deductible is listed on the first page of your policy letter. Sounds like you may have an issue with your agent not calling you in to go over your coverage, rather than an issue with State Farm.

Erie Insurance. Have been with them for over 15 years, never had an increase due to filing a claim. Also, very reasonable rates. State Farm was going to be double what I pay Erie when I shopped around a few years ago.

Yes, its never seemed fair that boys,are more expensive than girls even with their great school grades. I survived four kids going through this. If you have more than one vehicle, multi car discount, it is lower mine was with State Farm. I've had State Farm for over 30 some years.

I am a health insurance agent but I will just tell you don't be surprised if bcbs is the lowest premium you find. It usually is for this area. To shop different companies and get a comparison of rates go to healthcare.gov. You could also look at simply changing what kind of plan you have with bcbs. Don't assume you have to change companies until you have reviewed all of your options. You might also qualify for subsidies depending on income.
