Dr. Holt, he dropped me in August due my insurance and lordy the payments out of pocket were too high. I dont qualify for the clinic discounts. I haven't had prenatal care since then. Just got my insurance up and going after battling w/ them for months . Insane yes! Soon as I got my new cards and the ok, I called the OB counselor to see who'd take me. Shes yet to return my call, I call daily. Even spoke with her supervisor Quinten today. What a mess lol! But I'm still smiling, not much gets me down or stressed.
Need a doctor ASAP!!! Please give suggestions for an obgyn in KC.

Health Insurance recommendations? Will be traveling long-term. More concerned about health insurance than travel insurance (i.e., flight cancellation, stolen items). Or...
nim_opet replied:
That's not how travel health insurance works. In vast majority of cases you pay for emergency care out of pocket, then get reimbursed by the travel health insurance. The bills are not controlled by the insurance provider (e.g. A travel health insurer from the US does not negotiate costs with a hospital in Kenya), so there's no billing rate agreements like between US insurers and in-network providers. For serious things that require longer healthcare (past emergency) normally the policies offer repatriation cost coverage.

I typically use the tripinsurancestore.com. I call and tell them my itinerary and ask them to send me a couple different plans to compare as well as a digital copy of the policies so I can check the fine print.

I know a lot of people on this sub use World Nomads travel insurance. I plan to purchase my insurance through WN for an upcoming trip, and the quote I got was very reasonable ($107 for a 3 week trip and 4 countries). I recommend choosing the highest coverage.
