De Slegte on Breestraat used to have a good second hand selection..they have been refurbished so I'm not sure now..but well worth checking out.

Mayflower on Breestraat, Silvester on the Rapenburg for kids books, the public library has a not bad English language section, the Boekenzolder is free, bol.com can get you many hooks, and most of the Dutch book stores have some books in English.
